Courtney's POV

"I'm so sorry, excuse me." I said, reaching down to pick up the box that the man I ran into dropped.

It's contents were splayed across the ground. Circuits, tools, half formed things, and some glowy purple crystals.

"No don't worry, it's fine." He said, bending down and helping me put it all back.

I stood up and handed him the box.

He smiled nervously, "You know what this stuff is?"

"Uh, no. Should I?" I asked.

"Nah, it's equipment for a movie that hasn't been released yet. Don't tell anyone you saw this." He said.

"PHINEAS! Where did you run off to!?" Some yelled from around the corner.

His eyes widened as a familiar looking man came around the bend. The other man spotted me and glared darkly.

"Alright. My boss doesn't like people. You should leave, quickly." Phineas said.

"Will you be okay?" I asked, worried.

He scoffed, "Of course. I just don't want to waste your time."

I nodded and started to speed walk away from the two.

"Hey!" The other guy yelled.

I kept walking.

Why did that guy look familiar? I must have seen him somewhere today or something. Maybe the library.

I suddenly grew embarrassed, realizing that my face had been covered in tears when I was talking to Phineas.

I must have seemed like some stupid teenager. I quickly wiped the tears away.

I saw my apartment in looming closer and I sighed. I wish Steve would hurry up with his secret mission, I could use some good training.

Steve always knew just how to keep me at a disadvantage but not yet losing so it was never over too fast.

I was about to grab the doorknob, but then I heard something mechanical in the distance.

Well it sounded like Sam, but he was with Steve, so was it Tony? I turned around and-

"Hey!" I yelled in surprise.

The man with wings grabbed my jacket and yanked me into the sky. I yelped when he cut a sharp turn and dropped me onto the roof.

I rolled roughly and turned around, glaring.

He landed and the wings folded inward. Nothing like Sam's wings, but still.

"Who are you?" He demanded.

"This again?" I asked.

"Don't make me repeat myself." He warned, pointing his wicked sharp wing tips at me.

"Does saying Carrie actually tell you anything at all?" I asked.

He paused, lowering his wings.

"Look kid, I came here to kill you, but I won't, this time. You ever mention this to anyone and I will hunt you and your family down. Stay out of my way." He growled.

"K."

He narrowed his eyes and stared at me for a long moment before stepping backwards off the roof and flying away.

"What a waste of time. We should have just gotten the fight over with." I mumbled as I found a fire escape and climbed down to the street below.

"What are you doing?"
