Chaptee 8: And It Began

Courtney's POV

I watched with a smirk as Cap had his usual dramatic appearance behind the train. Everyone squinted to see who was behind it and then it finally passed.

Alien woman threw a spear at him, but he easily caught it and walked forward.

Typical Steve. He loves a good dramatic entrance.

Sam flew in and hit her, knocking her away as Natasha and I ran forward and attacked her companion.

Steve joined us shortly, followed by the alien woman and Sam.

Natasha dodged alien man's attack and Steve threw the spear at him. He moved away and Natasha caught it.

I jumped onto his shoulders as Natasha used the staff to electrocute the dude and yanked back. He groaned from Natasha's attack and the force of my pull knocked him over.

I kicked off just as Steve kicked the female alien away.

I unsheathed my sword and pointed it at them, like everyone else did, but with their own weapons.

I had always liked knives, but I grew to like swords over time as well.

"We don't want to kill you, but we will." Natasha told them.

"You'll never get the chance again." Alien girl said, glaring, before they were beamed up and transported away.

"Yay." I cheered dully.

We all turned around as Steve rolled his eyes and we looked at Wanda and Vision.

I sighed as we walked and Sam helped Vision up.

"Thank you Captain." Vision said, looking at Steve.

Would people start thanking Natasha, Sam, and I if we were the ones with the dramatic entrance instead of Steve?

I'm kidding, I don't really care.

"Let's get you on the jet." Steve said.

Did I mention that after Natasha's trip to Russia, she teamed back up with us and fixed the jet so Tony couldn't track it anymore?

Good, because I really didn't want to explain what happened over the entire two years the author skipped over. She is such a nuisance.

"Now, I thought we had a deal." Natasha said as the jet's doors began to rise.

"Stay close, check in, don't take any chances." Natasha continued.

"I'm sorry." Natasha apologized, sounding tired.

"So how was it?" I asked her.

"Courtney, I'm trying to be strict." Natasha glared at me.

"Oh please, I'm sure after Vision got stabbed, they got the point." I told her.

Natasha scoffed, "That doesn't change the fact that they disappeared."

"Like you did when you went to Russia?" I asked.

Natasha walked off and I smirked.

"Well, did you at least enjoy yourselves while you were off being rebels?" I asked them.

Vision and Wanda both nodded hesitatantly.

"We're just glad you're both safe." Steve told them.

"Not anymore." Rhodes said, looking over at us.
