Peter's POV

Woah.

I watched in absolute and utter amazement as Courtney and Captain America himself trained on the roof of their apartment building.

When I fought, it was usually me jumping around, not staying in one place long enough for the bad guys to get a hit in. I used my surroundings as a weapon, and combined with my webs and strength, that usually worked.

I mean, most bad guys don't have training against something like what I do.

But it definitely was a sight to see when you watch two heroes fight hand to hand. Captain America and Courtney were fast and they were direct, neither of them ever gained the upper hand, but I suppose someone had it because I wasn't experienced to know who did.

It was probably Cap, but I don't know.

They were talking too, almost as they were fighting on autopilot, knowing exactly what the other person was going to do at all times.

She would attack, and he would counter attack, baxk and forth, switching from offense to defense and back again.

Until suddenly, Cap didn't block one of her kicks. It smacked into his abs and he leaned into to kick, causing himself more pain, but at the same time, he grabbed her arm and pulled her forward.

She only had one available leg and hopped forward, but it wasn't enough. She fell over, but grabbed his leg as she did, almost stopping her fall until his knee buckled and both of them fell down in a heap.

They didn't attack after that, but both of them laid on the ground, laughing.

Courtney held her arm up and he bumped her forearm with his forearm before they both laughed again.

Mr. Stark and I never did anything like that.

Granted, his did just bring me to the new Avengers tower and got me a new suit, but I had to save his plane in order to get that treatment.

I mean, what would have happened if I said yes to his offer? He would have told me it was a test, and that I actually couldn't be an Avenger, because I didn't pass.

That would have sucked.

Courtney and Captain America actually seemed really... close. Happy. Like a real team.

Was that how the Avengers were before they broke up?

"What are you doing up here?"

I yelped, turning around, seeing Sam the Falcon standing on the roof behind me with his arms crossed and a glare on his face.

"Ok man, what happened last time we met was a long time ago. We don't need to hold any grudges or-"

"It was two months ago. Not very long." He grumbled.

I stammered. Oh, Mr. Stark was going to kill me.

"Look kid, all I asked was what are you doing up here? Stark send you to take us in?" He asked, "By yourself?"

"Uh, no! I just- I'm supposed to watch Courtney, until Captain America got back, so she didn't get caught." I told him nervously.

He raised an eyebrow, "Stark asked you to make sure we didn't get caught?"

I nodded quickly.

He facepalmed before sighing, "Well, Cap is back, so you don't need to anymore. I would like it if you could keep that on the down low though."

He stepped forward menacingly, as if he wanted to frighten me into agreeing. Which is what I did.

"Yeah, yeah. Of course. Mr. Stark didn't even ask me to tell him when Captain America got back." I told him.

"Good. Don't let me catch you around again though, okay?"

I nodded vigorously.

I actually immediately went and told Mr. Stark that Captain America was back, with The Falcon. I also told him that they caught me.

Mr. Stark wasn't very surprised, he told me he was actually expecting that to happen. Anyway, he told me I could stop watching them, because Captain America was back.

He also said that now that they knew we knew where they were, no doubt they would immediately leave, which was true, because later that night, I went to see and the apartment was empty and waiting for someone to rent it again.

It's been about two years since I last saw Courtney Todd and Captain America, but it wasn't the last I'd heard about them.

M.J. was quick to bring up Courtney and Carrie any time someone felt like criticizing Captain America. Ned asked me about them all the time, along with questions about the others ex-avengers.

The News always had something to say as well, with them always randomly popping up around America performing heroic acts and then running off and disappearing again.

The media has fallen in love with Courtney, because she has such mysterious origins and Mr. Stark refuses to talk about her.

They've been calling her the Child of Justice, and for those people who don't like the Captain America or super heroes in general, they call her Rogers's Spawn. Neither of them have a very nice ring, but the most popular name was coined in a few months after the break up.

Cadet America. I thought that was pretty funny.

Right now I'm on a field trip with Ned for school, it's actually in New York city, I've considered paying Mr. Stark a visit, but after what happened last time I snuck out during a field trip, I'm not so sure it's a good idea.

I felt the hairs on my arm rise and a premonition sounded in my head. I looked up and out the window, spotting a giant spaceship.

Aw shoot.

"Ned. Ned." I patted his arm repeatedly until he looked at me.

He spotted the giant spaceship.

"I need you to cause a distraction." I told him.

"We're all gonna die!" He yelled, standing up and pointing at the back of the bus, "There is a giant spaceship!"

Everyone got out their seats and looked out the back as I snuck out the window and started heading towards it.

I saw Mr. Stark about to be squished by a giant hammer so I jumped in and stopped it.

"Hey Mr. Stark!" I greeted.

"Kid, where'd you come from!?" He exclaimed.

"A field trip." I told him casually.

And then, hopefully, you know what happened.

Had to cut this short or else everything wouldn't fit right. Some of the chapters are super long though, so I don't feel bad.
