Courtney's POV

"Ok. Just close your eyes and hold still. Relax." Wanda instructed as I laid on the chair and looked up at Steve, somewhat scared, but also slightly excited.

I closed my eyes as her cold fingers touched my temples, and-

"Mommy! Daddy!" I yelled, running into a man and woman's arms.

Their faces were full of worry lines, but also smile lines. A sign of a hard life that could still be filled with joy and laughter.

"Courtney. Where have you been?" The woman asked.

"I was at the playground! I made a new friend!"

The scene then suddenly changed, memories filling into my head like a dam breaking.

"No! Stop, please! Mommy!" I screamed watching at they pushed my mother into my father's corpse and stepped back as the man with the metal arm walked forward.

"Serves you right for thinking you could hide her from us." The man standing next to my parents' killer said.

Then the scene changed again, flashing between countless memories.

Being thrown in a tube, people trying to freeze me, but I kept healing myself.

Chained to a table, two large wires sticking from my arms, sucking away my blood so quickly that my heart barely had time to replenish it. I was right on the edge of death.

Throwing a scientist over a table, a sickening crack echoing through the room when he collided with the wall. Someone barged in, pointing a large gun at me, his arm was prosthetic.

Screaming as a knife slowly sliced through my right arm, separating it from my shoulder. A red timer flashed  on the ceiling, as well as a stationary one of my record healing time. The men around the room cheered.

Running through trees, tears streaming down my face as I heard the winter soldier chasing after me. I could never outrun him or beat him in a fair fight. They were going go catch me.

Yells erupting outside of the room where my medical table was, as my captors experimented on someone else. I think it was a middle aged man who could bend his joints any direction all the way.

Taking a train to a new facility and slamming my supervisors face into a window. Then I jumped off the train and ran.

And ran. And ran.

I opened my eyes, immediately spotting Steve hovering over me. Someone behind me ran into something and caused a loud crash.

A single tear escaped from the corner of my eye and I couldn't bring myself to be worried for Wanda, who Clint and Vision were picking up and carrying out the door.

Steve came over and grabbed my hand, I squeezed it tightly in return.

I had a family. I was an only child with a loving mother and father. And then hydra killed them. Hydra killed them all so that they could kidnap and experiment on me.

I had no one left.

Jake's POV

I waited patiently outside of the room with Damian and Doctor Banner, who didn't want to be in the room because he noticed that he obviously unnerved Courtney when he was around.

Courts never did like doctors.

Damian, unlike me, was being very impatient. He was tapping his finger on the chair edge, he was banging his head against the wall, he was poking Dr. Banner-
