I heard footsteps behind me and looked back for a slight second, seeing the blonde man was behind me and gaining.

Fast runner, I see.

I grabbed a telephone pole and swung my self backwards, raising a foot and using the momentum to place a rib cracking kick in his chest.

He stumbled back and I kept running.

But seconds later, the guy was chasing after me again.

What does it take to shake his guy? He should be in serious pain right now!

I growled and tried to run faster but I was running low on stamina. Might as well calm the flight and start the fight.

I found an alley and ran inside, the man right at my heels. I jumped up and grabbed a fire escape, before quickly scrambling to the roof.

Once I was up, I held up my pocket knife and aimed it at him. The man paused.

"Look, I don't know who you are, but back off. We've had a stressful enough day. If you don't, I will impale you." I warned him.

"She probably can't even throw that knife." Someone said from behind me.

I squeaked, surprised, and whirled around, throwing the knife straight at the face of a man with a bow in his hand and a quiver on his back.

He dropped the bow and barely dodged the knife.

"Lucky shot?" He asked uncertainly.

I felt two strong arms wrap around my chest and I bucked, my arms pinned to my sides.

"Hey, calm down. We're trying to help you!" The blonde man behind me grunted.

"You're trying to kidnap me!" I yelled.

"No I'm not!" He exclaimed.

"So why are we trying to kidnap some lady off the streets?" The archer asked as he picked up his bow.

"Long story."

My head whipped to the side and I spotted a man in armor, his voice was familiar.

"How do you guys even get thid far off track? It was a simple, 'kill the hybrid dogs in the city' and you guys are up her trying to give some woman a heart attack." Another voice said as a woman with red hair and black clothes emerged from the shadows.

"Again, long story." The robot man said.

The man shifted his footing and I kicked back again, perfectly timing it to knock him off balance. I felt him begin to tip over and lunged again, twisting out of his weakened grip.

I took off, sending a kick at the archer's kneecap as I passed him. He cried out.

I got ready to jump off the roof, but them something hit my back and clamped onto me. I yelped and then it sent shocks across my body.

I convulsed a few times before falling unconscious.

I felt air blow across my arms in a cold breeze and resisted the urge to frown.

Someone must have cut off my sleeves.

Perhaps that person was the one moving off to my left, they were messing with something plastic on an elevated surface. A table most likely.

I listened closely, but couldn't hear any other signs of life.

I opened my eyes and looked over at them slowly. It was a short man in a lab coat with short curly brown hair. He was looking under a microscope at something.
