You rub your stomach at the satisfied feeling of the food you just ate. Hunter definitely felt the same, as he went in for seconds.

"There," he said, rinsing the dishes with some water. "Now we actually go do the project."

You groan, all your happiness now disappearing into thin air.

Hunter turns to you. "What's got you in such a twist?"

"The project."

Hunter looks unimpressed at your actions. "You do remember you're not doing any work?"

Yes, you do remember. The issue was that you'd still have some assignments to complete outside of math. School sadly has more than one source of your eternal pain.

On most days, studying was just something you couldn't do. It would only be in that sudden moment burst of energy you'd get once a month, if not less.

"Anyway, follow me, my room is on the top floor," Hunter dries off his hands, walking out the kitchen, leading the way.

You grab your bags, following suit.

"You've got a room on the top floor? I'd never imagine calling a house floor the top floor," You comment.

After a couple flights of stairs, Hunter and you reach the top. Your legs feel tired, but Hunter doesn't seem any less bothered than he was before.

"Apologies if it's a bit messy," He comments, opening the door.

You stare in awe.

The room was, frankly, very messy, save for the made bed. You wondered how often he cleaned it. There was an open window, perched snug leading out to a balcony that looks out onto the backyard. Oh. So that's where the massive garden is.

You walk in, blatantly mesmerized by how large it is. "It's such a big room," the words come out of your mouth before you can register them. "I like it."

Hunter's cheeks go pink at your remark, and you really absorb his looks in. High cheekbones, pointed ears, bushy brows, and massive eyebags that for some reason, suit him well.

He scratches the back of his neck. "Then, make yourself comfortable."

You look around the room, only to realize you don't know where to sit.

"On the bed," Hunter says. You think he misses the implication.

"Your what?"

"I do work on my bed since my room is pretty messy," He's practically already pulling out the assignment out his closet, placing it on the bed with the tote bag of supplies. He's made himself comfortable, and you hesitantly follow suit, dropping your bag onto the other side of the headboard.

It's not long that Hunter becomes fully absorbed in what he's doing, this time using a styrofoam cutter to trace shapes.

Your assignments are soon on the bed, too, and yet you don't know what to do first.

"Uh, so," You start, hoping to distract yourself from the mess in your head at the sight of the worksheets, notes and books. "Have you ever had other people over?"

"Not really," Surprisingly, he replies. "I've never had anyone over at my house before."

You don't admit being the first makes you feel special. "How come?"

He looks at you. "Well, I didn't..." He pauses, taking a deep breath. "Always live here."

"Where'd you live before here?" you ask.
