Flufftober Day 5: Watching the sunrise
~
I woke up to my boyfriend, Dexter, shaking me. I glanced over at the cloak and saw that it was only six in the morning.
"Go back to sleep," I said.
"Get up," Dexter said before pulling the blanket off of me.
"No," I whined.
"Come on, I want to show you something," Dexter said.
"It better be good," I said as I got out of bed.
He took my hand and pulled me toward the front door of our apartment.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"You'll see," Dexter said.
We went to the stairwell down the hall and up to the roof.
Dexter opened the door that led out onto the roof. The sun was just starting to come up over the horizon. There were blankets and pillows laid out as well as two canvas' and paint.
"I thought I'd surprise you with a morning date of painting the sunrise," Dexter said.
"That's really sweet," I said.
The two of us sat down on the blankets and started painting. We stayed there for the next few hours until we were done.
I flipped my canvas around to show Dexter the sunrise I painted.
"Very nice," Dexter said.
He flipped his canvas around too. It wasn't just the sunrise. It was of me watching the sunrise.
"I love it," I said.
We got everything gathered up before heading back to our apartment.
"So, was this worth getting up?" Dexter asked.
"Absolutely," I said. "But don't think this will work again."
"Noted," Dexter said.
