Flufftober Day 9: Text Messages

After my match I made my way back to my locker room. I changed out of my ring gear before getting my phone from my bag. I smiled when I saw I had a new message from Bray.
Bray: Congrats on the win tonight
Me: You watched?
Bray: Of course I did. I've been watching almost every week
Me: Well thank you :)
I looked up from my phone when there was a knock at the door.
"It's open," I said.
Darby came in followed by my dad.
"Hey, guys," I said before going back to my phone.
Bray: You seem happy there
Me: I am but do you know what would make me even happier?
Bray: What?
Me: If you were here too
"Who are you talking to?" Darby asked as he sat down next to me on the couch.
"My friend Bray," I said.
"How's he doing?" Steve asked.
"Assumably as good as he can be after getting fired," I said.
Bray: Abby...
Me: Don't Abby me. I miss working with you
Me: Or even just seeing you for that matter. It's weird not having you around all the time
Bray: I don't know what I'm going to do yet
Me: At least consider coming here
Me: Please
"Any idea what he's going to do now?" Steve asked.
"He says he doesn't know yet," I said.
"You want him to come here don't you?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, but who knows if that'll happen," I said.
"Sadly it might not be up to him," Steve said.
"I know," I said.
Bray: I'll see what I can do
Me: Good
Me: Speaking of AEW, I wanted to ask if you would want to come to the Full Gear PPV?
Bray: Now that I think I can do
Bray: Plus it would give us a chance to meet that guy you've been running around with
Me: Us?
Bray: I know he's already met your dad but I think it's time he met the rest of the family
Me: Wait, really?
Me: You better not be messing with me
Bray: We'll see you November 13th ;)
"They're coming to Full Gear!" I said with a smile.
"They?" Steve asked.
"Darby gets to meet the family," I said.
"I thought I already met your family," Darby said.
"Different family," Steve said.
"Oh, that family," Darby said.
"Don't worry," I said. "You'll love them."
