Tonight AEW was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. For the most part it was going to be an average night of Dynamite and Rampage except for the announcement of the Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
Tony Khan was supposed to be the one making the announcement but of course that didn't go to plan. Adam Cole and his friend Jay White from NJPW took over the announcement. Tony seemed irritated with their actions but it was great hearing how excited the crowd got over the partnership with NJPW.
After the announcement, I went to find Adam.
"Hey," I said when I found him in catering.
"Hey, what'd you think of the announcement?" Adam asked.
"Fans seemed excited," I said. "And I'll admit I'm interested to see how this whole Bullet Club and Elite shit goes."
"What do you mean?" Adam asked.
"Well from what you and Kenny have told me about Bullet Club, it doesn't seem like they like you very much," I said.
"I don't know about Kenny but Jay and I are fine," Adam said. "Here, you can ask him yourself."
I turned around to see Jay coming over.
"Hey Adam," Jay said, joining us. "Who's your friend?"
"This is (Y/N)," Adam said. "(Y/N), this is Jay, but you knew that."
"Well hello (Y/N)," Jay said. "Do you come here often?"
"Well, considering I work here, yes," I said.
"Seriously?" Adam asked. "That's the line you use?"
"Who said it was a line?" Jay asked.
"It definitely sounded like a line," I said. "And a cheesy one at that."
"But did it work?" Jay asked.
"That depends on where it's going," I said.
"How about out for a cup of coffee?" Jay asked.
"In that case, yeah," I said. "It worked."
