It had been a long morning, but my hair and makeup was finally done and my dress was on. Next thing on the list was to do first looks with my dad.
I waited until he was in place with his back to me before coming out. I tapped his shoulder so he knew I was there. When he turned around he took a moment to take everything in. I could see the tears forming in the corners of his eyes.
"You look stunning," William said.
"Thank you, dad," I said before giving him a hug.
"I can't believe my little girl is all grown up," William said. "It seems like just yesterday you were wrestling around with your brothers in the living room."
"Gosh, I know," I said. "I never thought we'd be here one day."
"Oh, I always knew you'd find someone one day," William said. "Wheeler is a good man."
"I know he is," I said. "And soon I get to call him my husband."
"How are you feeling about the ceremony?" William asked.
"Ready, but nervous," I said. "Just...could you do me a favor?"
"Anything," William said.
"Don't let me fall," I said.
"You've got it," William said with a smile.
