HE DIDN'T FIND HER AT TERMINUS.
He didn't find her on the side of the road.
He didn't find her in Alexandria.
When he separated from the group, he wasn't looking for shelter. He was looking for her.
He shouldn't have ended it like that. He shouldn't have fought with her. It wasn't her fault what happened to Carol.
"Don't leave me again."
"Never."
In the end he got Carol back. But he wanted Caroline.
He was on the road again, looking for her. He couldn't stay behind those walls, not while she was still out there.
Once the sun went down, he made himself a camp in a cluster of trees, eating a can of fruit he packed before his trip.
He reached for the Walkman, placing the headphones over his ears before pressing play.

He didn't look too happy about Lori leaving with me, but with good reason I guess. I was taking her to an unknown place with people they've never met."
Aaron stepped over, "Hey, what music are you listening to?" He asked, sitting next to Daryl,
"Ain't music." Daryl grunted, pausing the tape.
Aaron put the headphones on and pressed play for a moment before looking over at him, "Who is this?"
"My girl." Daryl mumbled, "Caroline."
"Where is she?"
"I don' know.... but I'm gonna find her."
