CAROLINE AND MAGGIE SLEPT on the same bed, comforting each other that night. Despite everything that was going on, they were exhausted.
"It was hard to sleep. Not knowing when Woodbury was going to attack made it difficult to relax. Not to mention Rick's freak out last night has caused a lot of tension within the group."
The blonde woke up early. She changed into a pair of cleaner jeans and a tank top. She should take Carol to the stream tomorrow to clean everyone's clothes.
She walked out and stretched her arms, looking around. Almost everyone was awake. Caroline turned to look at the perch, where Daryl's mattress still laid.
Despite what had happened, she hoped he was okay out there.
After eating breakfast, Glenn, Carl, and Caroline sat on the ground and Glenn drew an outline of the prison with chalk, "Now you said you found Tyreese's group here?" He asked, pointing at the front section of the prison,
Caroline nodded, "Yeah."
"We secured this." Glenn stated,
"He thought he came through here." Carl explain pointing to another section to the right,
Glenn sighed, "Means there's another breach." He was silent for a moment, thinking, "Okay. The whole front of the prison is unsecure. If walkers just strolled in, then it's gonna be cake for a group of armed men."
"Why are we even so sure he's going to attack?" Beth asked, "Maybe you scared him off."
"He had fish tanks full of heads." Michonne spoke up, "Walkers and humans. Trophies. He's coming." She confirmed,
"We should hit him now." Glenn stetted,
"What?"
"He won't be expecting it. We'll sneak back in and put a bullet in his head." Glenn continued,
"We're not assassins." Carol responded,
Caroline shook her head, "You can't, Glenn. He's probably doubled the patrol."
Glenn ignored her and walked up to Michonne, "You know where his apartment is. You and I could end this tonight. I'll do it myself."
After a moment, Michonne nodded, "Okay."
"He didn't know you were coming last time and look what happened. You were almost killed. Daryl was captured. And you and Maggie were almost executed."
"You can't stop me." Glenn responded,
"Rick would never allow this."
"You really think he's in any position to make that choice?" Glenn replied,
"Think this through clearly. T-Dog lost his life here. Lori, too. The men that were here. It isn't worth any more killing. What are we waiting for? If he's really on his way, we should be out of here by now." Hershel explained,
"He's right, Glenn."
"And go where?" Glenn questioned,
"We lived on the road all winter." Hershel replied,
"Back when you had two legs and we didn't have a baby crying for walkers every four hours." Glenn stated,
"We can't stay here."
"We can't run."
"The tension was high. Both of them had good points. But either way, we needed to be prepared."
Maggie gave Glenn a disgusted look before walking back into the cell block. Everyone was silent for a moment before Glenn spoke up again, "All right. We'll stay put. We're gonna defend this place. We're making a stand." He bent back down by the prison outline,
"Carl, and Caroline, we'll go down to the tombs. We need to figure out where the breach is."
Carl nodded, "You got it."
"You might need some help." Michonne stated,
"No, in case anything happens, I need you out here." Glenn looked around, "Who's on watch?"
Caroline looked at everyone and noticed no one except for Rick and Maggie were missing, "Damn it."
The blonde girl stood up, "I'll go on watch. You and Carl can go into the tombs." She looked down at the boy, "You okay with that?"
Carl nodded and she tapped his hat, "Alright. Be careful, guys." She grabbed a rifle and headed outside.
