"I was glad to be outside. The fresh air, and being away from the group is what I needed to clear my head. It was chance to... think about what has happened recently."

CAROLINE LEANED AGAINST THE RAILING, watching.

She hoped that Tyreese's group was doing okay. They were probably scarred from what had happened the previous day. Rick freaked all of them out.

Glenn was acting leader, and not that he isn't good at it, it's just that he's too focused on getting revenge. This group was falling apart.

It made her question... where would she be now if she left with her dad back at the farm. Would she be dead? Or would they be far from here, thriving?

Caroline nodded at Hershel who was hobbling over to her guard tower, "Have you seen Rick?" He asked,

She pointed towards the stream that was on the west side of the prison, just outside the fences, "He's wandering out there somewhere. Want me to go out and find him?"

"No, I got it." He began walking in the field, towards the fences,

"Be careful, Hershel!" She called out.

She soon spotted Rick on the other side, on the bridge. The two conversed through the fences, but they were too far from them to hear what they were talking about. Rick soon walked back over the bridge after talking with Hershel for a few minutes.

Caroline looked around, everyone was outside. Michonne was by the bus in the field, while the others were in the courtyard. Glenn had left abut ten minutes before, going to drive by the front of the prison to check the walls.

She looked back out and noticed a white truck sitting by the edge of the tree line. She lifted the rifle to check it out, but it was too late.

A shot fired off, and Axel hit the ground.

"Everyone get down!" Caroline yelled.

"This was it. This was their retaliation."

More shots fired off and Caroline watched as Rick ran back towards the prison. Hershel laid in the grass and Carol hid behind Axel's body.

Caroline went to shoot but bullets fired towards her. She hid in the guard tower, ducking under the windows.

She noticed another man in the other guard tower to the left. She was quick to aim and fire, taking him out.

Suddenly, it all went quiet.

"Beth!" Caroline turned to see Maggie handing her sister a rifle before they all went to a different position to fire out at the Woodbury fighters.

Caroline heard a large vehicle approaching, but it wasn't Glenn. No... it was too big.

A large van broke through the gates and Caroline shot at the driver. The truck stopped and the tension rose.

The back door opened and walkers trailed into the field, "What the fuck?" Caroline questioned,

The door behind her opened and she looked back, expecting Rick who had somehow made it back in the fences or someone from her group. Instead, a can was tossed inside and smoke quickly filled the guard tower.

Caroline began coughing and went out onto the platform, where a large man with a gun followed.

Caroline let out a gasp as he aimed his gun at her but she smacked it away before landing a punch to his jaw. She let out a cry of pain as he threw her into the wall.

Caroline made her way back towards the door to get out of there but the man pulled her back. She grabbed her rifle from the ground and smacked the guy in the downstairs area with it. The man let out a harsh grunt and landed on his knees, "You bitch."

She shot the man before rushing towards the stairs. But in her haste and partially blinded from the smoke, Caroline tripped and fell down the rest of the stairs.

She let out a gasp as her ribs hit the concrete corner of the step and smacked her head against the bottom step, knocking her out.
