IT WAS THE EARLY MORNING WHEN THEY ARRIVED BACK AT THE PRISON, A SCHOOL BUS FOLLOWING.

It was over. After months of fighting and keeping their guard up, they could finally let it down.

Most of their group came out to see what was going on, but the person Daryl wanted to see most wasn't to be found.

"Where's Care?" Daryl asked Carol,

"I think she's still sleeping."

The remaining Dixon went into the prison and up to their cell.

Daryl walked in to see Caroline still asleep on their bed. He noticed another figure and walked over, finding the youngest Grimes boy curled up against her.

The redneck brushed back her hair and kissed her cheekbone, "Care." He whispered into her ear, "C'mon, wake up, sunshine."

Her blue eyes fluttered open and she smiled upon seeing him, "Hey," She whispered, her voice still full of sleep, "Is it over?"

Daryl nodded, "C'mon."

Caroline woke the younger boy up and the three walked outside. Daryl held her hand tightly as the remaining people of Woodbury were helped off the bus.

Daryl looked down at the blonde, noticing she was looking somewhere else. She was watching Rick and Carl have a conversation.

"He's gonna be okay." Daryl told her,

She nodded, "I'm sure he will be."

Caroline broke away from him to greet all the newcomers. Daryl watched with a smirk.

"There's gonna have to be a lot of changes around here." Rick commented, standing next to the hunter,

"Yeah." He grunted, "We can handle it."
