Hinata:
Hinata was nervous as he looked himself over in the mirror. Sugawara had been the one to help him pick out his outfit. It was out of his comfort zone but regardless it was cute.
He came out after finally gaining a little courage. He found Kageyama on his phone leaning against the wall. Tobio was wearing different attire from what Hinata normally saw him in and wondered when he wore this type of clothing. He had a light blue long sleeve button up that was hidden for the most part under a navy blue short sleeve t-shirt that had minimal detailing on it. He paired it with some black jeans, a utility belt that hung low around his waist, and some navy colored converse.
Hinata studied him and also noticed that he had some silver rings on which matched his silver lock necklace and watch. Kageyama gave off a different aura when he styled himself as such.
'Damn he looks good.' He thought to himself.
He cleared his throat, catching Kageyama's attention, "Hey, I'm ready to go." He watched as Tobio fumbled with his phone, almost dropping it in the process.
"Wow, y-you look a-amazing." Kageyama stated, his eyes looking him over.
A blush crept up on Hinata's face while he took in the compliment.
"Thank you." He responded, "You don't look too bad yourself."
There was a pause in their conversation, Hinata squirmed in his spot as Kageyama continued to stare at him.
"Uhh, are you ready to head out?" Hinata then asked, breaking the silence.
"Huh?" Kageyama asked, "O-oh yeah, sorry. Let's go."
Shoyo let out a small sigh of relief as the two made their way out.
They decided to take the train to downtown Tokyo as it was the cheapest opposed to taking a taxi. Although Kaeyama didn't mind paying for the taxi fare, Hinata wasn't going to let him spend anywhere from 7100 to 8800 yen (65 to 80 USD) for a shorter ride time.
They waited for the train making minor conversation. It was a little weird. The date aspect for some reason made it harder to have longer conversations.
"I could've paid for the taxi, you know? Then we wouldn't have to have been waiting here." Kageyama teased.
"As if, the taxi fare would've been too much. There was no way in hell I was going to let you pay that much when we could take the train for WAY cheaper." Hinata answered.
Kageyama chuckled.
"What's so funny?" Hinata asked, "I'm just helping you be more responsible with your money."
"Thank you. But it's not that. You being concerned about the expense of the taxi reminded me of my mom. She used to be like that. Always worried about how much something was. Now she doesn't even bother looking at the price tag."
Hinata looked up at Kageyama, the smile on his face a bittersweet one.
"Well I care about looking at the price tag because it's important and I'm not letting you spend too much. Plus I could always help cover my expenses." Hinata answered.
"Uh, I think the fuck not. You know when someone asks another person on a date, there's an unspoken rule that whoever invited, should be the one to pay. I appreciate you offering to pay for your own stuff but that's not happening."
Hinata smiled at him. "If you say so."
The train came soon after and they had a chance to board and find a good spot to sit.
