CHAPTER ONE
in which, life finds a way.

LIFE WASN'T SO BAD FOR HWA YOUNG. "Can anyone tell me how much flowers there are on the board?" Hwa Young asked, turning to her 'criss-cross' sat students. Her glimmering eyes scanned the five year olds, seeing as their soft expressions morphed into ones of concentration.

She closed the red expo marker in her hands, and placed it at the tiny shelf that ran along the underside length of her classroom's white board, whilst waiting as their jumping eyes reached the very last flower they had counted.

The dark haired woman stayed quiet as she stood to the side. A second later, and already a few of her students had shot their tiny hands in the air, bouncing up and down to be the child to be chosen to speak.

It was still amusing to her til this day; how excited children could be.

"Yes, Minho," She spoke one of the shyer kid's name, his hand barely raised higher than the height of his shoulder from embarrassment.

Despite his reserved and introverted nature, he was bright nonetheless.

Immediately hearing his name leaving his teacher's coral stained lips, his confidence lowered causing his head to fall and his voice to come out mumbled. "13,"

Hwa Young's lips stretched further across her face, her grin opening to show her pearly teeth. "Good job, Min. You're great at counting!" She cooed, clapping her hands as if like a seal in one of those aquarium shows. However it didn't matter how childish she looked in front of her kids, all that mattered was that Minho lifted his gaze to meet hers.
