CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN
oh how fast the night changes.

Three glasses of red wine later and suddenly, Hwa Young's lips moved without a care. "High School was so bittersweet. We were beautiful in senior year, than you had to leave to do whatever you left to do," She hissed, sitting next to Renjun behind the kitchen counter as she poured herself another glass of the liquid.

Quickly, the male snatched the cup, and placed it far from her reach. He was afraid that she'd become too drunk to the point she'd black out again. The ravenette whined at his sobering attempts, and crossed her arms over her chest sassily.

He confiscated the wine bottle as well as both of their glasses, before returning back to his place next to her with a water bottle. Renjun unscrewed the cap then urging the bottle to the woman's lips. "I had to go university in the States," He replied as he watched her take a few tiny sips of the refreshing liquid.

Hwa Young placed down her drink and frowned. "Why? Did you not want to see me?" She slurred, jutting her pointer finger into his chest.

Defensively, Renjun lifted his arms up though he allowed her to still poke him. "I did want to see you," He informed her the truth, her pokes becoming less and less frequent until her arm dropped to her side. "—but my family's company was at stake. Trust me, if I could change the past, I would have loved you for the last ten years as I should have,"

Drunkenly, Hwa Young slapped the tips of her fingers onto his lips, mumbling his words. "Don't say things like that," She hushed him, his eyes widening at her bold actions. Were drunk actions really sober thoughts?

"Why—" He grunted past the pressure she set atop his lips.

Hwa Young's idyllic face morphed into one of anger. Her brows furrowed together at the thought of another girl hearing those sweet, honey words. "You probably said it to that other girl," Contrasting what many would have thought, Hwa Young still wondered about that mysterious woman that her in-laws mentioned.
