CHAPTER TWO
nostalgia is a bitch.

Hwa Young wasn't so sure how her life had come to this. She was sat in front of her childhood best friend, at a 7-11, watching him slurp down a cup of instant ramen.

As he devoured his second cup of the sodium packed noodles, and began to unwrap the packaging of his triangle kimbap, the ravenette woman removed her heels and replaced them with her 'after-work crocs'. She hummed in delight, stashing away the horrendous torture device that made her feet scream in pain.

Sighing out in relief, the male finally pushed back his hood, allowing the bright lights of the convenience store to illuminate his nostalgic features.

Thankful to the headband that held back his hair, Hwa Young examined his face intently. Her eyes gazed down the slope of his nose, to his eyes that held the same vibrancy as before and his lips that were freshly coated with a type of natural gloss from how his tongue swiped over it quickly.

It was bizarre to her. Utterly unimaginable.

He was the same Huang Renjun from high school, yet he looked so much better with his mature skin. Perhaps she heard angels singing when she saw his face, or it when her chest warmed with the feeling of having a full stomach just by watching the boy gulp down the spicy broth of his ramen.

How could the lazy, insensitive boy of her childhood look so good in a pair of beat up sneakers and a dull hoodie?

She must've been high off her ass to even think Renjun was even the slightest bit attractive in this lighting. It must be my lack of sleep. She reassured herself, however she knew it was to just excuse the fluttering in her stomach.
