CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN nothing, as she said.
As any person who knew Renjun closely would have expected, he absolutely lost it once he saw Hwa Young walk into the private back room of the restaurant— her right cheek smeared with a dark and familiar substance. The menu filled of chinese cuisine dropped to the table, clattering the nearby glass dishes.
The man's eyes dangerously turned into narrowed slits as they zeroed in on the dull cut that began to dribble less blood as Hwa Young added pressure to it.
Immediately as she entered the room, he stood to his feet— the force pushing back his chair into the wall behind him— where it noticeably shook with his strength.
Hwa Young felt like she could melt in that moment, where he began to walk towards her in haste. By the few seconds she was given to gaze upon his approaching figure, she noticed that he changed out of his casual dress wear, now adorned in a dark grey buttoned dress shirt, with his signature flare of the top buttons undone and the sleeves pulled up to his elbows. They were tucked into a pair of dark Levi's, accentuating his legs that moved at lightning speed to make it to her.
And his ring, with a similar gold band to hers, glimmered gorgeously under the restaurant lights that it almost made her forget the circumstances they were in.
But of course the fluttery feeling that swayed her from only a glance at the ring was not enough to drown out Renjun's firm voice. If she didn't know him any better, his bellowing tone would have been mistaken as him scolding her.
But she knew to always listen to his words instead of his voice. It was just the way he was. "What the hell happened?" He interrogated aggressively, tone thick with rage that began to bubble more and more severely as the seconds passed.
