CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE
shark girl and shrimpy

Before they knew it, christmas rolled by like the winter breeze, and January was creeping around the corner. It was New Year's eve, around the early afternoon and the Kwon and Huang household was anything but tranquil as it should have been.

But who could blame them? Renjun was meeting his in-laws. And he dreaded how he had her parents remember him as the boy that came over daily to eat their healthy cereal and ate freebies at her aunt's restaurant. They must've really seen him as a free-loader.

The raven male just wished Hwa Young was kind enough to talk about him in ways that wouldn't make them want to strangle him. Perhaps mention the paper rings, or the sweet words he whispered to her only, or their fun adventures when Hwa Young wasn't busy skating or studying.

Not the back alley fights he would 'accidentally' get into, or the detentions he had managed to get as well as sneak out of, or the times he and Hwa Young used to find themselves kissing in the janitors closet.

I just hope this goes okay. The male pleaded in his mind, undoing and re-buttoning the top button of his dress shirt. He had been doing that for the last ten minutes, stood in front of the mirror in their empty master bathroom.

Hwa Young who has been doing her make up on the bedroom floor, with a single hand-held mirror, heard his nervous grunts and groans that screamed that he was overthinking everything. She packed up her palettes and brushes, stuffing them into a pouch before getting up.

With her bare feet, she padded against the wooden floor across the bedroom to the bathroom. She peaked her head in, her curled locks messily framing her curious expression. "You good, Jun?" She laughed at his nervous nature.
