CHAPTER FIFTEEN eggnog and in-laws.
Renjun and Hwa Young stood at the large home's double doors. It loomed over them, and the bright windows at either sides of them illuminated their faces from the dark shades of the night.
The male glanced down at his side, watching as his fiancée hyped herself up for the 100th time that evening. But who was he to judge? If it was him meeting her parents, he'd likely do the same.
"Okay, I got this," She cheered quietly under her breath, dusting down her red dress to ensure absolutely no imperfections were in view.
There was room for no mistakes, she repeated in her mind.
"I'm gonna ring the doorbell—" Renjun stated, reaching out towards the little system that had a camera attached to it.
Hwa Young's eyes grew incredibly large, her anxiety bubbling in her stomach as her entire body began to feel light. "No wait!" She panicked, however, Renjun had already clicked the button to ring a festive tune.
The tune of jingle bells came out more like a horrifying scream to the woman as she looked like a deer caught in head lights. "Too late," He chimed, readjusting his hold on the flower bouquet and re-grabbing her hand in his.
Hwa Young hit his shoulder, her diamond having an effect like brass knuckles, earning a groan of pain from her fiancée. "Ow—"
"What no, I can just go buy something from the store and then sneak in when no one's looking—" She rambled hurriedly, but at the very last second of her words, one of the two doors were swung open— revealing two joyous elders.
