CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
in laws and in love.

"Don't overthink, don't overthink, don't overthink," Renjun repeated over and over again as the couple traveled up the stone pavement through the front lawn, up to the large doors of his mother in-law's home. "Oh god, angel, I'm overthinking," He whined helplessly, his grip on the baggie of freshly steamed seafood tightening as they stood at the porch.

Hwa Young giggled as she gazed up at his figure. His left foot tapped on the ground frequently, its drumming matching the beat of his heart.

"You'll do fine," She reassured quietly, not expecting her words to hold much significance as she was nervous as well, however Renjun quickly reached his hand down to intertwine it with hers. And with a single squeeze of his fingers, she knew he was grateful for her. "No pressure, but all pressure, y'know?"

The raven haired male rolled his eyes, though he nodded in understanding. "Right.."

Finally the knuckles of Hwa Young's left hand rapped against the front door, as the other stayed glued to Renjun's palm.

Not to the woman's surprise, but almost immediately the door was thrown open. It was so rapid that Renjun had not realized he was face to face with his in-laws until Hwa Young spoke up first.

He stood paralyzed, staring off with his father-in-law. The firm, and stone cold expression of Beomgyu Kwon could make anyone shiver. Renjun felt like a pipsqueak teenager again, meeting her father for the first time. Yet, this time it wasn't as her best friend and classmate, but as her soon-to-be husband.

"Beom, stop scaring Renjun," Chaeran scolded her ex-husband, slapping his shoulder. Instantly, the older male broke out into a soft teasing grin that both the kwon women rolled their eyes at. "Really? A power move right at the door?" Hwa Young's mother tsked before enveloping her daughter in a long awaited hug.
