CHAPTER FIVE
sugar, spice, and i do's.

"What's in it for me?" Hwa Young quirked up a brow at the male and his quick frequented question. She folded her arms over her chest, and waited in anticipation. The ravenette watched as the male smiled arrogantly, unbuttoning his blazer and unbuttoning the top button of his white dress shirt.

"A man like me?" He answered confidently, causing Hwa Young to throw her purse at his face.

It smacked his nose briefly before falling to his panicked hands. Renjun scrunched up his nose and closed his eyes in shock. He kept them closed, defeated, and opened them once she began to speak again. "Excuse you, I think I'm not the one who needs the help," She sassed.

"Fine, I'm sorry," Renjun apologized, running his fingers through his hair. "—but if you were to do this for me, I'll make sure no bill or debt ever touches your fingertips,"

"Uh-huh, I can do that with hard work and my job,"

"Not with that career path," It was his turn to sass her.

"Did you do research on me or something?" She interrogated, eyes squinted in suspicion.

"I needed to know what my high school best friend was up to these days before I marry you," Renjun shrugged nonchalantly moving towards it at one of the couches in his office. Like a lost puppy, Hwa Young followed closely and sat across from him. "And I hate to say this, but I've seen some debt collectors knocking on your goshiwon the other day,"

"Okayyy," She nodded slowly as she extended the last vowel. "So what do you want from me?"

"I need a wife," He stated plainly, however, as it simple as it was— she knew it wasn't that easy.
