The next morning, Kosuke was informed about the Fatui activities happening near Tatarasuna. He orders his soldiers to investigate the area. Although dangerous, he is planning on going there as well after he informs Yae.
So after preparing, he secretly went to the shrine to inform the priestess. Yae was worried that the Balladeer might set him up in a trap. He assures the priestess that everything will be alright. But if it is really a trap, he will send his Tengu general back to inform everybody.
Yae Miko sighs before allowing him to leave. She somewhat became Kosuke's mother figure. Although the young ruler is not familiar with the term, she always describes it as a fox taking care of her pup.
Kosuke went to Tatarasuna to investigate. The reports were that the Mikage furnace acting up again after being fixed a hundred years ago. This was strange to him because none of the people living near the furnace knows how its mechanisms works, specially the amount of Tatarigami t releases.
"Endo, as soon as we arrive, guide the entrances from the Fatuis. I am sure they're the one responsible for this." He informs his general. Endo nods as he went back inside the ship to pass the instructions to the soldiers.
The ship's anchors were lowered upon arriving at the island. Kosuke was the first one to step on to land, inspecting the place from Kairagis and Fatuis.
"All cleared, Shogun." One of the soldier said. He nods as they venture deeper into the furnace.
He saw how the furnace is releasing too much Tatarigami. The villagers fled the island as soon as they noticed how the furnace was acting up again.
"My Lord, it seems like the furnace is reacting to something." Endo said as he inspects the scene.
Kosuke nods as he went closer. They are standing on a cliff right infront of the furnace itself. Thunder can be heard right above the island as the furnace draws in the energy.
Just then, a bunch of treasure hoarders and Fatuis appeared. The soldiers went in to form a defensive line around him. But he still went infront to confront the Fatuis.
"Hold. Let's get to the point. Who did this?" He asked the Fatui gunner.
The guy chuckled as he points his gun at the furnace. Kosuke gave him a dead stare as he tries to get an answer.
"It's actually none of the Shogunate's business. We need the energy from the furnace to manufacture some delusions. Ever since the Harbingers disbanded, the production of delusions also declined and came to an end." The Fatui said. Kosuke tightens the grip around his polearm.
But before he can speak, the ground starts shaking, startling everyone. One of the treasure hoarder fired an arrow towards the soldiers, bringing down one. The Shogunate acted as they clashes in with the Fatuis and the hoarders.
Kosuke went to help them as he takes down the bigger Fatuis and hoarders. Endo too, helped his troops fend off the hoarders. A horn was heard as more Fatuis and hoarders appeared out of the bushes and ruins.
Kosuke looks around before beheading one of the Fatui. He clicked his tongue before switching his naginata into his tachi. He gathers thunder all throughout his body before doing an upward slash, sending currents of electricity to the hoarders and Fatuis' body, taking them down.
One Fatui tried to escape but was captured by Endo, putting him on a chokehold as Kosuke went towards them. He pointed his blade on to the Fatui's neck before asking.
"Now tell me. Where are you guys hiding?" He asked. The Fatui almost wet himself before answering the Shogun's question.
"S-Shakei Pavilion!" He said in a frightened tone. Kosuke sighs before ordering them to tie the Fatui.
Endo approaches his ruler before asking him about their next move.
"We should go straight ahead to Yashiori Island and go to Shakei Pavilion. Let's end this once and for all." He said before heading back to the ship.
Endo ordered every men to go and head straight to Yashiori Island and search for the main entrance to the said pavilion.
