Chapter 5

Upon reaching Yashiori Island, Kosuke can immediately sense the ominous presence of the Balladeer. He clenches his fist as he and his men went straight to the pavilion, where he suspects Scaramouche is hiding.

"Shogun-sama, isn't it a little eerie in this island?" One of the soldier asked in a scared manner.

Kosuke looks at him over his shoulders, ignoring his question as they went to the entrance. The soldiers breaks the lock and was greeted by the ominous aura of the inside.

He went in first with Endo following closely from behind. It's oddly strange since there's no Fatui nearby. Maybe it really is a trap. But Kosuke is determined to see the puppet.

Stopping infront of a huge room, Kosuke ordered his men to stay put as he ventured in with his general. The room is covered in purple fog, and the place feels heavy to their chest.

They were about to turn around and leave when they saw nothing, when the doors immediately closed behind them, leaving them separated with their men.

The fog thickens as it taken over Endo, making him faint. Kosuke heard laughter. The fog clears up revealing his intention. The Balladeer.

Scaramouche gives him a wicked grin as he steps forward. Summoning his naginata, Kosuke stands his guard.

"Well isn't this a great reunion? You, me, and the one who created us both, Ei. Who is now living as a part of you." Scaramouche said while clapping.

The young God points the tip of his naginata towards Scaramouche's direction, stopping him from approaching him.

"I know what you're after, the gnosis. Well, let me tell you this straight. You won't have it." He said before showing the gnosis infront of him.

Kosuke gritted his teeth as his hold tightens around his weapon. Scaramouche touches the blade and lowered his spear as he slowly approaches him.

"I don't get the reason why you are still after this gnosis. Is it because Ei told you so? She told you to get it from me to avoid the destruction of her ideal. Eternity. Am I right?"

"I am here to end you and get the gnosis. Now I don't know what you've been doing with that and what your plans are. But I know neither of it is good." Kosuke replies to the Balladeer's question.

The answer made Scaramouche chuckle, shaking his head until he starts cackling like a crazy man. He only stops then looks at Kosuke with a serious face.

"End me?! Are you out of your mind?! Even the Tsaritsa couldn't end me! You have no chance against me. I am an archon too if you think about it. But much stronger."

"Listen, Belial. Let's face the fact that the people of Inazuma had already forgotten their deity. From the moment she stepped down up until your current reign. Haven't you noticed? They don't seem to find you threatening at all." Scaramouche scoffs before walking back to his seat.

Kosuke clenches his fist as he begins to get angry at the puppet. Scaramouche noticed this and continues to aggravate the archon. And he knows that it is working.

"You're wrong. They still pray and worship me. I am their protective deity, the God of Thunder and Eternity!" Kosuke angrily said. Scaramouche seems to not listen at all as all he did was yawn.

"Oh are you really?" He simply said with a raised brow.

This brought Kosuke to the breaking point, causing him to dash towards Scaramouche. This took the Balladeer im surprised as all he saw was a ball of lightning speeding towards him.

Kosuke pins Scaramouche to the ground and was about to stab him, when Scaramouche suddenly hits him with an energy ball made out of pure electro energy. This sent Kosuke flying to the other side of the room.

"Now you got the nerves to attack me, huh? Well then, show me what you got." Scaramouche challenges as he summons an electric scythe.

Kosuke stands up before dashing forward again. He needs to beat him and take the gnosis, that way, he can stop him from creating malicious plans against the other nation.

Violent swings were thrown as the two duels to their death. They are both equal in strength, but with the gnosis, Scaramouche is a gram stronger.

When Scaramouche was about to swing his scythe around Kosuke's neck, the latter quickly dodges it. His long hair was then cut off up to his elbow. Kosuke pants as he tries to keep up with Scaramouche.

He successfully landed blows against Scaramouche, slightly making him stumble. When he was about to strike again, Scaramouche uses the power of the gnosis to block it and causes a huge shockwave that knocked off Kosuke to the ground.

He was about to stand up when he met the Balladeer's knee on to his face. Scaramouche brutally beats him up, rag dolling him up around the room.

When he saw that Kosuke can't no longer continue, he aims his scythe above his head. Right when he was about to swing, Endo fires an arrow that got the Balladeer's attention, making him evade it instead.

Endo quickly rushes to his archon, saving him and fleeing away from the scene.

Scaramouche watches them escape before summoning his soldiers.

"My lord. We have killed their allies. What do you want us to do next?" The Fatui agent asked.

"We're going to Inazuma City. We're forcing the Bakufu to surrender and fight without their Shogun. Now that he is heavily injured, they don't have much chance against us." Scaramouche explains. The soldiers grins at each other before obeying.

Meanwhile, back at Narukami, the sky suddenly turns grey as thunder and lightning roars. Yae Miko saw this as a bad sign and told the Yashiro commission to guide the civilians to safety as the thunder storm rages.

"Oh dear Ei, what happened? Did the Balladeer successfully killed Kosuke?" She asked before going bac to the shrine with heir maidens.

The people knew what was up and was worried as red lightning strikes the ground. The day that they all feared has come. The fall of Inazuma.
