Kosuke couldn't keep himself from thinking about the sight of Endo getting killed infront of him. He still blames himself for being too careless and slow to save him.
The night falls deeper as he tries to get some sleep before finally returning back to Inazuma. He cancelled all of his plans in meeting the other archons, but he is willing to do one last duel with Zhongli.
As he finally calms down, he immediately was transported into a eerie place. There was no smell, no air, no nothing. It's all empty and the void seems to stretch for miles. This was new to him.
Kosuke falls down on to his knees, sitting as he takes a deep breath. Suddenly, a beam of light appears, enough to illuminate him. He looks down on his naked body as emotions started pouring in. His eyes shaking as the emotion was too harsh and strong for him to handle, until a soothing voice was heard.
His world died as soon as he closed his eyes. He heard weeping and whaling in the darkness. Bodies fell in his path. Finally there was nothing left except the eternal silence he was in. He felt herse.
Then there was a voice. It was a different voice. Not the same voice he hears everytime Makoto or Ei is communicating with him through the paths. Kosuke's breathing becomes steady as he listens to the voice.
"You poor emotional wreck." The voice of a female said.
The once dark plane was then dominated with purple hues as the voice continues to talk to him. Strings pulled him closer to the light
"You will change. A lot." The voice of the untouchable plane whispered in his ears.
It was a cold and dangerous voice. It was something new. Yet familiar at the same time. As if it once belonged to him.
"This is the first time I have approached you. Are you no longer afraid?" The voice asked.
"Afraid? Strange. I no longer feel anything. There was no sense of angst, guilt.... or even pain. I feel nothing. There was nothing except eternal emptiness" Kosuke answered back as the faint purple glow of his eyes slowly quivers.
"Keep going and you'll fall into a deeper abyss." The voice warned him.
"It doesn't matter." He mumbles.
"By accepting me, you will leave everything behind. Your friends, your family."
"It doesn't matter. I have always been alone. Eversince she created me." Kosuke insisted as he clenched his fist.
"Mistrust and suspicion will hound you. You will be furthering down this lonely path towards eternity."
"It doesn't matter. It was the fate I should've faced the moment I was created." He cries out.
"You still won't have him back."
Kosuke was then silent. Is he doing the right thing? Making deals with someone he doesn't know for the sake of his ideal? Not considering the fate and trust that his people have on him?
"You won't be able to get him back anymore. Be able to see him smile once again. There is no turning back once you stepped into this path. Are you sure this is your choice?" The voice then asked again.
"......it doesn't matter. Time and eternity doesn't stand well with each other. Inazuma's fate is in my hands. This is something I must do. I've made my choice." Kosuke reluctantly said. He is now sure to what is about to come for him. But for the sake of Inazuma, he is willing to sacrifice himself.
"Then go! Bury me with your hands. Take my fury and lament my passing. Take me in and assume your power alone. Tell the world that I have returned as the true ruler of lightning!"
"Go now and be the true Electro Archon!"
"Farewell, Raiden Kosuke." And with that, everything exploded. He has accepted her. He accepted the power invested within him.
He is no longer afraid to make mistakes. He is no longer afraid to sacrifice himself. For he, is the true Electro Archon.
