The rain started pouring hard as the sages buries Endo's body up in a hill in Sumeru. Only a few people came. Those who witnessed the brutal death of the general. Kosuke was nowhere to be found when the general was getting buried. He casts himself away in solitary. He can't stand to see one of the most important people getting buried 6 feet underground.
As he sits still under the huge oak tree, he begins to wonder if he can construct his own ideal of eternity. The eternity of being still and unmoving. To prevent anymore loss to happen under his dominion. Maybe he will think more about it when the time he reclaims his throne inside the Tenshukaku.
Zhongli and Venti looks at each other, hesitating to approach the young god. But they both gain their courage, mostly Zhongli.
The Geo Archon approaches the lamenting god, standing next to him as he watches the rain pour harder. Venti handed over the umbrella he brought.
"Kosuke, I am sorry for your loss." Zhongli mutters as he cross his arms over his chest.
Silence. It was what Kosuke gave the God of Contracts. Zhongli totally understood what he is going through because he also experienced many loss.
"I failed to protect him, Morax. If I were only strong enough and didn't hesitated to slay Scaramouche, I would've probably prevented Endo's untimely death." Kosuke mumbles as he looks down on his hands.
Venti bites his bottom lip before sitting down next to him. The Anemo Archon heaves out a sigh, brushing the stray hair out of Kosuke's fair face.
"You know, in every progress there is loss. This is just the beginning of the countless loss you will encounter in the future." Venti straightforwardly said.
"You need to have a thick skull to be able to endure this pain. The world is far too cruel even for gods like us. I have lost a friend too. Even Morax as well, let's not forget Ei."
"That is why she isolated herself in her self made plane. To cope up with the loss she is experiencing. But now that she is not here physically anymore, she won't experience the loss she once did millennia ago."
"People come and go, Kosuke. That applies to everyone, including gods." Zhongli butted in. The rain started to subside.
Kosuke sighs before lifting his head up, looking at the distance as he takes every word Venti and Zhongli says.
"Maybe you are right. In order for me to reach my goal, there must be loss in every step of the way. If I have to pursuit eternity in solitary, then I won't have much of a choice. If only time would stay still, that's the eternity I would like to pursue." Kosuke said before standing up.
"But time and eternity doesn't really go well with each other, Kosuke. Time doesn't stand still." Venti mumbles as he stood up as well.
Kosuke lets out a bitter chuckle, a smirk forming at the side of his lips.
"Then I will make it stop and still. But first, I have to eliminate the biggest flaw in my ideal. The one who is causing all of this change. Scaramouche." He said before walking away from the two gods.
Venti looks at Zhongli, who is also having thoughts on what the young god said.
"I know. If he takes the same path as Ei, this will become a huge problem."
