Chapter 5-New Friend

September 21st, 2017 (tw: suicide)

A few days have passed since they all left, and Hope feels lonely. Everyone is at sound check, so they can't text nor can they call. She decides to leave her apartment and go to the park, as long as she doesn't have everyone crowding her as they always do. Hope loves her fans just as much as they love her, but the constant mobs drive her crazy.

She grabs her purse, phone, and keys and walks out of her apartment.

She goes to the parking garage and runs to her car before anyone sees her, and to her luck, no one does.

She starts up the car and blasts her favorite music and sings with the songs playing. She has her car roof down so people recognize her, but she has the car as her advantage to not stop and take pictures every 2 seconds. She goes just 5 over the speed limit and her hair is flying with the wind.

Later, she finds herself in a parking lot for the biggest park she could find in Houston. Hope just wants to relax and take a leisurely walk around the park.

She grabs her phone out of her pocket and puts her headphones in her ears, still blasting her music, just no one can hear it. She wants to avoid basically any human contact and wants time to herself, just like a normal person.

40 minutes have passed and Hope's a few minutes from her car. She's feeling relaxed now, but a few people came up to take a picture here and there, but it wasn't enough to bother her.

As soon as she thinks nothing can get worse, she trips and falls, and there's people around her too. "Shit." She says to herself as she gets up as quickly as she can.

A girl with short dark brown hair runs up to her and asks, "Hey, are you okay? Are you hurt?" This is just what Hope needs, people running up to her and asking questions. "I'm fine, I'm good." She tells the stranger.

"I'm Nicole, oh, and here's your phone." Nicole picks up Hope's phone from the ground and surprisingly, it didn't crack or break in the slightest.

"Thank you, but I could've got that." Hope tells her, she's so embarrassed she can't even make eye contact. All that Hope wanted was a relaxing walk and she tripped and someone came up to her, only to make Hope not forget this whole situation. "Oh, it's no problem." Nicole says and hands Hope her phone back.

"I'm surprised you're not asking for a picture or anything." Hope says as she takes her phone back and laughs a little. "Well, it looked like you didn't want to be bothered, probably like I'm doing now, but regardless of who it is that falls, I still see if they're okay, famous or not."

Hope is surprised at Nicole's answer, this never happens to her, and she never expected it. "Hey, this sounds dumb but could I get you're number? I've been super lonely recently and I really need a friend right now." Hope asks Nicole, she crosses her fingers she says yes.

"Sure," Nicole tells her. "I could need a friend too, no one ever talks to me here, no matter how many public events I go to."

That makes Hope sad to hear, she believes everyone should be included and no one gets left out. Though SHE'S been the one leaving herself out on opportunities, that's why she took up on Awsten's offer, she needs to make more friends that don't use her.

The two exchange numbers and say goodbye to each other and Hope makes her way to her car. At least it wasn't a total bust. She got to relax most of the time and even got a friend. This makes her think back to being a kid, you meet a random person, you compliment them, ask if they want to be friends, and boom, friends forever.
