Awsten's POV
This Saturday was going to be a busy one, unlike most. Travis wanted to record a couple more episodes for the podcast so that we could have the next day off, which I wasn't totally opposed to. Hope was also going to announce tour dates, which I already knew because I'm the best and most trustworthy boyfriend to exist.
I just didn't know how to get her out of the house so she wouldn't have to listen to me reading smut and fanfictions about myself for the public. I had already embarrassed myself in the hotel a couple months ago, that should be enough for as long as until we're married. Just maybe then I'll let her listen to an episode. It shouldn't be normal for someone to listen to their incredibly adorable boyfriend read sex stories about himself.
Travis made the horrible, yet genius idea to have my mom on an episode. One part of me was terrified, and the other was still shocked that she even agreed.
He wanted Hope to be on it, but she had enough on her plate for the day. I had to be with her for the announcement, and of course had to be the first one to talk about it.
As I started to set the table up in my room, and Travis got some cords and the microphones, there was a knock on the door. I went to open it, and there was Hope. She still knew what I was doing, I wouldn't keep anything from her.
"Are you ready to go on that walk for the announcement?" She asked me excitedly. I found pretty cunning that she got excited for smaller things, like when I agree to go somewhere with her, or someone texts her back. It was like a little kid going into a candy shop.
I let Travis know where I was going and when I would be back, and he gave me the okay. I had thirty minutes alone with my girlfriend. I still couldn't believe I could call her that.
We decided on staying in a small nearby park, I haven't really thought of going there that much when I was growing up, but there weren't many people which I liked.
I let Hope decide on a small bench under a Weeping Willow tree, they were her favorite.
"I don't understand why we need to go all the way out here for a tour date announcement." Sometimes, Hope's actions made me a little curious about what goes on in her mind. When I announce a tour I just do it from my room or the studio, nothing fancy.
"I just like having actual alone time with you. Without your family walking in, you know?" Of course I understood what she was talking about. She was the cutest when she wanted to be alone with me, she sounded so innocent no matter what.
Then, something went through my head. I looked down at my feet and I could already tell Hope knew something was wrong.
Alas, I was proven right when she started talking, "Aws, what's wrong?"
"Nothing," I said, it's always been my default, but I knew Hope deserved to know. I still hesitated to tell her. "I guess I'm just not used to having this much in a relationship. I mean.. she never just wanted time with me alone, she was always out with her friends. We already lived states apart, like us, all I wanted was honesty and time with her," I started rushing my words, too embarrassed to actually tell her, but I knew she'd still understand me. "I might have been too annoying? I don't know."
I watched Hope as she looked around us for a few seconds, then I felt her hand in mine. It got me worried if people would see us.
Her voice was more quiet than before, but she spoke in the warmest voice I've heard, "Awsten. I want you to remember that I am not her, what she did was fucked up. I would never think of hurting you like that. Secondly, I can't name a single time you were annoying. Wanting and even needing time with your partner is normal, never annoying."
