Hope's POV
"Awsten that song is even better than the first time I heard it," and it was true, his voice was incredible and knowing that he wrote that song about me made it even better.
"You're gonna get a tattoo of that one too?" Awsten teases me while he laughs, his laugh was so adorable, I could never get tired of it. God, I could go on about this boy all day with no breaks, he makes me feel different than any other person has before.
"Why not? What if I get it before you release the song and people know that it's a lyric? That would fuck everyone up."
Awsten was immediately on board with my idea, "That is the best idea I've heard. When could you do it? What's you're favorite lyric?"
"I'll run to you. I know it's short but just the four words mean a lot to me."
"How come?"
"Because you flew all the way up here for me, that means a lot. Also, I could do it today, it's pretty early and one of my friends does my tattoos. There's a couple more I have as well and not just the powerless one. Would you want to go with me? We could even give you one." Then I heard his laugh once more after I joked about him getting one. I know he hates needles, but it's always funny to joke about him getting a tattoo.
"No way, first off, everyone knows I hate needles. My other reason is that I've wanted to look like the most lame dad ever, no tattoos and I'll probably just flip burgers and shit. But I'd be a good dad as well."
"I think you would too," I agreed.
I take my phone out of my back pocket and scroll through my contacts, finally ending on the one, Ashton. Awsten immediately looked at my phone, quickly asking, "Who's Ashton?" He didn't sound jealous, more like curious.
"He's my tattoo artist, he's done all of the ones I have and I've known him since high school." Awsten still didn't seem like he got the answer he wanted, so I continued, "He also has a girlfriend, Awsten."
"I'm sorry," he apologized.
I was confused, "Why?"
"Because I see one fucking guy in your contacts and I immediately want to know who he is."
"Awsten," I say and I put one of my hands on his shoulder, "if anyone was hitting on me, you know I would tell you, right?" The sound of my phone ringing catches me off-guard. I check the contact name, "Speak of the devil," I mumble.
"Who is it?" Awsten asks.
"It's Eliza, this wouldn't be the first time she calls out of nowhere. She's on vacation, I bet she's drunk calling me, just watch this." I answer the phone and put it on speaker.
"Hope? Thank god you answered, I need to talk to you." Eliza's voice sounds unsteady, it also sounds like she's laughing under her breath.
"What the fuck do you want, Eliza?" I ask, my tone obviously annoyed.
"What I want, is to get you back, I miss you." She said exactly what I thought she would.
"Eliza, you're obviously drunk right now, you don't want me back, and a matter of fact, I don't want you back."
"Come on Hope, we both know that nobody else is going to want you, you're too fucking broken for anyone to tolerate your mood swings."
My voice gets slightly louder, "I don't have any mood swings, you do. You're the one that couldn't keep yourself from getting mad at me to the point that you hurt me. Also, you're the one that fucking broke me you bitch."
"Oh sweetheart, see, you're only getting more mad by the second," her voice dripping with mockery and satisfaction because she was genuinely making me so angry.
"H-" I couldn't even get a word in before Awsten grabbed my phone out of my hands and started talking to Eliza.
"Now listen here, don't you even know the shit you've put her through? We've spent so much time just talking about you and Hope could just go on and on about how much you had fucked her up."
I tried to take my phone back from Awsten, but he lifted his arm up so I couldn't reach it. I couldn't hear Eliza's voice quite clearly, I could barely understand it, "Oh my god Hope, is it that guy you've been fucking for months? I'm honestly surprised you would still be hanging out with him after the tour considering how much drama is going on."
"What do you mean?" I hear Awsten ask.
"Well there's so much going on around Twitter that basically half of the people that support Hope and half the people that support your band are fighting with the other halves that you just make her look bad in general."
"And how is that?"
"For starters, you don't have a lot of fans, and most of them are toxic overall."
And of course she was right, I've seen all the things said and I pretended that I didn't.
"Eliza, you're fucking drunk, stop calling me and just leave me the fuck alone. I don't need you putting this bullshit on me," I shout. I take my phone back and immediately hang up on Eliza.
Awsten wastes no time to embrace me in a hug, and I love them. His hugs are different than others and it was incredible. There was so much feeling in them, so much meaning. It was like he trapped me in a warm place that made me feel safe, like nothing could hurt me anymore. He grabs my hand and leads me back to the couch and sits down with me.
Awsten immediately wrapped his arms back around me and talked in one of the most comforting voices I've heard, "Just relax, she's not here, you have me. Just breathe."
I don't say anything after Awsten, but instead I hand him my phone.
"What do you want me to do with this?"
"Keep it for the rest of the day." I answer quietly.
"Are you sure you want me to? Nicole or Maliki could call you."
"They're the only two people I'll answer calls from today, just let me see if Ashton can get me an appointment today or tomorrow."
Awsten hands me my phone back and I pull up Ashton's contact and call him.
He doesn't answer the first the time I call, so I try one more time and he answers just before I was about to hang up, "Hey Hope."
"Hey Ashton, I wanted to see if you could get my an appointment for me to get a tattoo...maybe at one today, if that's not too much trouble?"
"Oh definitely! I only have two appointments today, but you know there are always people that walk in expecting to get one on the spot. Do you have a reference for it?"
"Not yet, but I know what I want it to say at least, I'll show you when I get there. Thanks Ash, you're the best."
"No problem Hope, I'll see you around one, bye."
I hang up the phone after saying goodbye with a large smile on my face. I waste no time to ask Awsten something, "Can you write down the lyrics I told you so I can get that as the tattoo?"
Awsten didn't seem to be shocked by my question, a lot of fans have asked him to write lyrics for their tattoos.
"I mean...yeah, but are you sure you want my handwriting for it?"
"Awsten, I am more sure about this than anything I have ever been sure about before. Now, what do you want to do in the mean time?"
"Well I don't know about you, but I'm going to sleep a little more." Then he takes the blanket on the couch we're sitting on and places it over the both of us and I set an alarm for eleven.
