*Flashback*
"Is this all you got? He is weaker than I thought" One of the agents said laughing, his boot struck the left side of his face, it reeked of blood, gore and soil. Clint smelled just as bad, his ribcage screamed in agony as he kicked him again, enjoying the tears that pricked his eyes. Unaware of the fact that they were more a promise to get them back for this than being the product of pain they were inflicting upon the Captain.
The weather seemed to side with him as it thrashed around them loudly. The storm and lightning howling in anger, soaked them all. Two of them grimaced at the painful strikes of raindrops. They were hitting his back like small needles, soothing him unlike his tormentors. The one with brown eyes held the young Captain by hair, making him look at his face properly.
"You...I knew that you would follow me. What did I say before? You are nothing. Leave this place before I make you leave like the cowardly dog you are!"
"Says the one who can't keep a man down without backstabbing him"
"Pfft. And he couldn't even backstab him alone. He needed two other sidekicks for that. Now, now that's pathetic"
Clint Dempsey felt his mouth quirk up in a knowing smirk. He would know those mocking voices anywhere. It wasn't long when one of the sidekicks let out a shout, falling on his back beside him. He coughed up blood with huge eyes. The leader of the pack gulped, staring at the two non identical twins. The other sidekick was sent flying to the other side of the river bridge, his head hitting the railing as loud as the cloud struck one of the trees, lighting it up on raging fire.
"Kevin and Jacob?"
"Hello, cowardly bastard!" Kevin said, punching him straight in his teeth. He stumbled back surprised but wasn't given much chance as another punch landed on cheekbones, Clintb could swear he heard a crack.
"What did you say about being nothing again?" Jacob roared, grabbing him by the hair as he did with the Captain. Kevin kneed him hard and the leader dropped down screaming on his knees. Before he could be beaten more into a pulp, Captain Clint cleared his throat to make his presence known, he was sick of lying down in the soaking smelly soily bridge. Kevin turned towards him, his black eyes grinning as he tilted his head in amusement.
"Captain, you know you look pathetic?" He commented.
"Shut up asshole," Clint said, letting him help him stand up with his arms under his shoulder as support. He hissed a bit when his broken ribs groaned in protest at the movement.
"You got it bad Captain" Jacob winced as Clint gasped when he pulled out a knife out of his leg. Kevin on the other hand chuckled like a bastard.
"I expected more than this from you. I told you not to go alone. We are a team for a reason Clint" Kevin said seriously this time and Jacob nodded his green eyes transparently worried for him.
"I had no choice. If I had waited for you both to come...he would have run away by then" Captain said gritting his jaw. He hated that he couldn't complete the mission without them backing up his booty like that. He has a long way to go.
"CCA doesn't want corpses Cint. We need smart like-"
"Like me," Kevin said, grinning at his twin. Jacob made a face at that, flicking his now wet hair out of his tiny face. He regarded his brother in playful distaste.
"God's no. Not like him please. Anyone but him"
They chuckled together at that. "What should we do with him now?" Captain asked, and three of them looked at the lying three unconscious figures at the bridge.
"Let's give them to Cassidy- Ouch!"
"Calling your superior by name, you have a wish to die?"
"You never say that to Clint. He always calls me by name" Kevin complained in a whiny voice.
"That's because we graduated together. We can allow him that privilege" Jacob said, shrugging.
"Are you sure it's not because you want to date that actress he knows?"
"Shut up!" Clint and Jacob shouted together at him in irritation.
"Captain! Are you okay?" Micheal stood before the soaked in rain and sweat, as he took in the state of Captain,
"Here comes the lapdog," Kevin whispered just for the other two to hear.
"What are you doing here, soldier?" Captain asked, now in a firm voice that he kept miles away when he was with Kevin and Jacob.
"Why else do you think? She knew you were missing. Who else told Agent Kevin and Agent Jacob?"
"Go on Captain or she will eat us all alive"
