Jen's pov:

We stood outside a mansion. I read the nameplate- Welcome to Dempsey residence. I tried to look inside from the glass door with a flower print. And then I looked at the nameplate again. Now, where have I heard this name before?

Dad cleared his throat loudly. He nodded his head towards the closed big door, implying for me to knock on it. I turned and pointed to the bell on the sidewall. I rang it two times. Dad dressed up for the occasion. He was wearing his best Armani suit and made sure to comb his hair on the side which made him look like an elderly. He even made me wear one of my collections.

It opened slowly, suspensefully while I craned my neck to see who was inside. Where could dad have brought us? To one of his senior's houses? Why else will he dress up? Is he in love? I won't mind that. At least, he won't be alone. One of us must get our true love. If not me then surely him.

My eyes skimmed over the very posh interior of the mansion. The smell of freesia greeted us as we entered inside. I didn't even see her coming, not until she wrapped her arms around my waist. She is a small woman. I gasped in surprise and then giggled nervously when she patted my cheek. She smiled at me warmly and her grey eyes twinkled.

Wait a minute. Grey eyes? Why is everything here so familiar?

"You must be Jen! I am Clarissa" She greeted.

"Yes, I am" I replied smiling back. I turned to stare at my dad who smiled at her like an old friend.

"Clarrisa! It's been so long. You look beautiful" He exclaimed loudly.

"Shut up Cassidy! We talked last night"

I heard something like, 'Hey why did you blow my cover?'.

And then my eyes caught the ones that were staring at me with a stunned expression. It was Captain. He looked so out of the place on that expensive leather sofa that I wanted to laugh out loud. But I was still wondering if it's a dream. Why will I be blessed with the sight of Captain Clint other than fantasy? I pinched my arm and the pain felt proved my theories wrong.

He is here. Really in front of me. After a month. But the question is, what is he doing here?

"Why are you standing? Come sit, sit!" She said pulling me with her towards the Mr. Disciplinary Action Book's side. He blinked several times and then as the wheels in his head turned, he looked away and a poker expression settled on his handsome face, giving nothing away.

"Clint scoot over son" Clarissa ordered and almost threw me on his lap. He shifted in time, but our arms brushed and tingles went up and down my body much like the first time we met.

Dad and Clarissa sat on the other side of the sofa with big grins.

"Dad...what?" I asked, speechless.

"Oh, I and Clint's dad were best friends. I apologize for not telling you before. But the situation wasn't exactly good, '' He answered, shrugging.

Captain cleared his throat and started, "Salute General!"

"Stop embarrassing me son. I don't know why but he has always been so uptight. Don't mind him" She said directly staring at me.

I giggled unintentionally and I didn't have to turn to know that Captain was scowling at me.

"It's okay, I am used to it," I replied with a smile.

Inside I felt like breaking up with nervousness. It's like I am meeting Captain again for the first time, in a different setting with no danger around. With no reason for us to be careful and look behind our backs.
