chapter 57

so turns out the quick phone call jace made was to luke.

luke gave jace the location of hodge only mintues later and ran off.

its like any mention of hodge of valentine recently and he goes insane.

alec called luke on his phone me having no idea where mine is...probably at magnus's. he gave us the location that he told jace and then met us there,

we rush into this underground car park place and see jace literally about to shove a sword threw the middle of hodge as he is on the floor.

alec rushes forwards tackeling jace to the ground holding him their as me and luke rush towards hodge.

yes he betrayed us but if he dies we wont get any information.

"It's over!"alec screams at him holding him down to the fall.

"It's not over. He's a traitor. He deserves to pay!" jace screams fighting alec trying to shove him off him. 

i get on my knees pulling off the zip off hoodie as luke rolls hodge over making me gasp.

seeing the stub where his hand used to be i quickly ball up my hoodie holding it around the wound.

"You nearly killed him!"alec screams at him again.

"Maybe I should've killed him! He sided with Valentine, Alec. The Clave let him go once before and look where that got us."jace speaks strugging as alec still holds him to the fall.

"What are you gonna do? You're gonna kill every ex-Circle member, even our parents?"alec asks grabbing  a hold of jace face making him look at him as jace grunts trying to escape him.

"Robert and Maryse aren't my parents."jace growls at him.

"You said it yourself. They raised you. They are your parents! Just calm down."alec tells him tapping him on the chest before standing up leaving jace to lay there.

 "There's a dungeon in Idris with your name written all over it."luke tells hodge as i hold the hoodie to hodges hand still.

alec comes over and crothes down notcing me holding the hoodie and blood on my hands.

"everything okay?" he asks looking at me. i look at him and nod before pressing harder making hodge groan.

he nods and pulls out his steele making me shuffle to the side slightly as he can reach hodge. he starts to draw on his chest making hodge groan and thrust slightly.

"i got it"luke says taking the hoodie out my hands making me step back quickly taking a deep breath.

i look down at my hands quickly seeing the blood ebrushing them off on my jeans sighing since there grey and not black.

i turn around and look over at jace seeing him stood up now i frown.

looks like hes speaking to someone.

"jace" i call out but he doesnt turn to look at me. slowly walking forwards i look at him confused."jace is everything okay?" i ask him slowly.

he suddnely looks at me making me step back.

"its fine" he says shrugging past me making me sigh.

alec and luke dragged hodge over to a piller where he can hold the hoodie onto his own amputated hand. 

jace was sat on the other side of the pillar his eyes glaring at hodge the whole time.

i was sat next to him with my back against the piller too. i look down at the blood on my hands.

although i wasnt the one to cause the blood or hurt it still feels strange to have someones blood on my hands.

"you good?"alec asks me pulling me frowm my stares.

"yeah"i say pushing myself to my feet.

"you sure?" he asks as we walk towards luke who is making a phone call to get us picked up.

"yes alec...its just blood" i say rubbing my hands on my jeans again trying to get it off.

"How's Hodge doing?"luke asks hanging up the phone as we reach him he looks over his shoulder at the hodge and then at us.

"He'll live. It's Jace I'm worried about."alec says shaking his head worriedly. i would hold his hand but.."Valentine really messed with his head."alec expains to luke.

"hes right somethings not right" i say making them both look at me.

"What, at Renwick's?"luke asks a frown on his face.

"Yeah. He went through a lot recently. I thought we had settled it, but something's killing him inside. I don't know what it is."alec sighs shaiking his head crossing his arms.

"This is all too familiar. I saw a similar thing with Valentine 18 years ago." luke speaks glancing at me at the mention of my father.

i havent really spoken about how i feel about the whole valentie being my father.

i mean both clary and jace have met him yet i havent.

apart from all the stuff everyone has said i know nothing about this man.

"Jace isn't Valentine."alec says pulling me from my thoughts.

"Not yet. We gotta keep an eye on him." luke speaks making me instinctively look over at jace and hodge.

"where'd they go?" i ask looking over at the pillar where they was.

"what?" alec asks frowning turning around looking over aswell.

we all glance at each other before rushing forwards.

alec passes back and fouth infront of me. im sat down leaning aginst the pillar where we last say them.

alec holds his phone to his ear calling jace,

"where the hell are you?" he asks quikly the moment jace answers.

 i cant hear the other side of the phone.

"You're acting crazy. All right? Whatever Valentine's telling you, it's not true."alec speaks frantically into the phone his passing getting faster.

"you cant let him control you like this! this isnt you!" alec speaks quickly into the phone.

i sigh i can tell he's getting frustrated.jace isnt gonna let him in.

"no no no no no you dont have to do this alright?" alec says stopping his passing, holding a hand on his face he sighs."You're not a..... Jace?"alec speaks slwoly.

he frowns looking at the phone as he pulls it away from his ear.

"whats going on?" i ask watching him walk over to me.

"jace wants us to help clary" he says holding a hand out helping me too my feet.

"we cant we gotta help him first" i say shaking my head. alec just sighs and holds my hand tighter as we walk.

"let just find clary" he speaks squeezing my hand making me nod back.

"okay" i reply as we walk quickly.
