Chapter 51:The Beach

Waking up in the morning, Anya was already jumping on my bed, yelling my name.  “Mama” she kept saying until I opened my eyes

“Yeah” I asked in a raspy voice

“Beach please” she begged looking into my eyes, I groaned and closed my eyes again but she jumped down on me

“Fine now get off of me” I said throwing off my blanket

I walked into the bathroom and was ambushed by a huge puff of steam,  it felt so warm.  Steve was in the shower, “Steve we’re going to the beach today” I said getting ready for my day

When I walked out of the bathroom, Anya was in her swimming suit and jumping on the bed.  “Anya Sarah Rogers” I yelled at her, she looked at me and her eyes got huge

“Sorry mommy” she said sitting down on the bed, giving me her puppy dog eyes

I looked at her and walked up to her, “I just don’t want you getting hurt baby” I said bringing her into my arms and kissing her forehead

“Okay” she said cuddling into my chest

Steve walked out of the bathroom “Took you long enough” I said smiling at Anya

“Yeah well your water is super warm I didn’t want to get out” he said coming up behind me and pulling me against his waist.  Feeling his hard member and abs, the water on his skin, I couldn’t help but melt into his body but we have somewhere to be 

“Wow you're sounding like a girl now” I said looking up into his eyes, giving him a better look of Anya.  He moved faster away from me than I think he ever had in my life

“Now are we ready for the beach?” I asked him giving him a side eye

“Yes we can go now” he said picking up Anya and bringing her out to the car, I grabbed us towels, sunscreen and a few other things before telling Nat, Tony, and Yelena to start packing up Anya’s things and we would be back later

I got in the driver's seat and Anya was jumping in her seat buckled up, “Ready” I asked teasing her

“Yes” she practically yelled from the backseat in excitement

“Okay” I said pulling out of the driveway and heading towards the beach, thankfully it's only like twenty minutes from the house so it's not a bad drive 

Once we got to the beach Anya jumped out of the car and went running, “Wait” I yelled to her

She turned around and gave me a look, “Wait for me please” I said nicely having her stay in her spot.  I got all of our stuff out of the trunk and we set up a spot on the sandy beach.  Nobody in sight just how I like it

I got in the water with Anya and Steve stayed up by the towels setting stuff up, and getting himself ready for the salty ocean water

Steve’s point of view:
Driving to the beach I held Tori’s hand the entire way, yes it wasn’t a long drive but I still got to hold her hand.  Holding her hand is something I very rarely get to do because she is always shutting herself off from everybody

Yes I may be part of the reason she shuts herself off, but I’m trying to fix that.  I will start putting her first, and worry more about her than anything else.  My number one priority right now is Anya, and Tori.
 
I watched from afar as they had smiles on their faces, and silent laughs leaving their lips.  Making my life the happiest on the planet by just one second.  I can’t believe this has turned into my life but I also can’t help think about the unknown

What if Tori kept Anya a secret from me forever, or at least until Anya was a teenager or older? I would have missed my child growing up for her entire life and it all would have been my fault

My life could be totally different but it's not and I can’t complain about that.  I wouldn’t change anything for the world.  Right here in this moment, I have a beautiful daughter, and the love of my life in arms reach

Oh what a lucky man I am, I turned my attention back to the ocean where my entire life was having fun.  I watched and watched with a smile on my face, the people I love turning into blurs .  “Steve” I heard a voice call out to me

I blinked a few times, the blurs becoming actual forms.  “Yeah?” I yelled back at them 

“You coming in?” Tori asked smiling 

“Yeah coming” I yelled back running into the ocean, lifting my legs high into the air trying not to get dragged down by the water.  When I got out to where they were standing, I kissed Tori

“What was that for?” she asked blushing 

“What, I can't just give you a kiss?” I questioned

“It was just spontaneous that's all” she said smiling up at me 

“Okay now lets play” I said, turning my attention to Anya, watching her splash in the waves that were crashing against the shore

I joined in the water and the salty taste was something else, “Come on dad” I heard Anya yell going into the ocean and my heart melted, everytime she calls me dad it makes me smile

Playing in the water right here right now, is what I wanted for the rest of my life and nothing more.  I’m fine just the way we are but I do want to marry Tori and I know exactly when to do it

Sooner rather than later it was time to go back to the house, all that was left was to pack and then my life will be happy.  Let's get this over with
