301 AC, Stark-Targaryen Camp, Riverlands

"I don't care who goes, for as long as it isn't me," Alyssa said, looking between Robb and Catelyn. "Not that I don't want Sansa to return to us - I just don't think it's wise for me to go to the Vale when both Lysa and Baelish hate me."

After weeks of silence they had received a confirmation that Sansa was in the Vale under the so called protection of her aunt and her new husband. However, it was not on the map for Lysa Arryn to send a few Knights of the Vale to escort her niece to her family.

"I will go," Catelyn offered, "She is my daughter and it is my sister who rules the Vale."

"Because it went so remarkably well the last time you travelled on your own," Alyssa snorted, "You just managed to start a war - but I suppose that won't be possible this time considering the kingdom is in enough chaos as it is."

"There is no need to be snarky," Catelyn told her with a glare.

"There is always a need to be snarky," Alyssa shot back before looking at Robb, "But your mother is right. If we send someone else your Aunt Lysa will probably see it as a threat. We could send a small number of men with her - enough to keep her safe - but not enough for it to seem as a threat."

"Is this what you want, mother?" Robb turned to Catelyn.

"Yes," Catelyn said, walking closer to Robb to place her hand on his cheek, "Allow me to bring Sansa back to us."

Robb stepped back, "I will make sure the preparations for your departure is seen to," he told his mother. "Alys will care for Arya while you are gone."

"Alyssa has very much to stand in already," Catelyn argued, "She cannot be expected to care for Arya as well-"

"But what she can do is speak for herself," Alyssa said pointedly, "I might have quite a lot to do right now but Arya will be as safe with me as she is with you now. Not to mention that I can ask Elia, Ashara or even Oberyn to watch her when I can't - not that she is in the need of constant watch."

"It is settled then," Robb said, "Alys, may I speak with you for a moment?"

"Of course, love," Alyssa stood up and followed him out of the tent. Once outside she turned to her nephew, "You need to be a little more forgiving with your mother."
