303 AC, King's Landing
"Don't scream," Alyssa said, using the hand that didn't cover his mouth to keep him from struggling. She stared into a pair of cat-green eyes that reminded her so much of Ashton and Lucy.
It seemed like he was paralysed in fear which allowed Alyssa to take the hand that didn't cover his mouth and drag down the fabric that covered her face to reveal her face.
"I'm not here to harm you, Tommen," Alyssa whispered. "I promise you that. I'm going to take my hand off your mouth now, so please don't scream. Nod if you understand me."
Tommen gave her a small nod and the poor boy was probably in shock. It wasn't every night you were woken up by a masked person covering your mouth.
"I'm sorry for frightening you, my dear," Alyssa smiled gently at the young Prince. "And I understand if you are confused and scared - but I need you to listen to me, okay?"
"I understand," Tommen told her quietly, sitting up. For some reason he didn't even look a little scared of her. Alyssa would have thought that Cersei had poisoned all her children with lies about her.
"The castle is under siege at this moment. The Targaryen and Stark armies have already entered King's Landing. That's what the bells signalled and soon the Red Keep will fall too," Alyssa told him. "Your brother won't be King any longer when the sun rises and I can't promise you that he will survive the upcoming days - and same goes for your mother. But you, Myrcella and even your grandfather will be spared - I've made sure of that."
Silently Tommen nodded, an unreadable expression on his face. "When the armies take the city Maegor's Holdfast will be a target and I can't assure your safety in here. Therefore I want you to come with me. I'll get you out of here and to safety. Then if you want to, and only if you want to, there is a way you can help me end this a bit easier. We can minimise the bloodshed. Do you understand?"
Tommen nodded again. "I understand."
"I'm sorry there isn't another way-"
"It's nothing for you to apologise for," Tommen assured her. "Joffrey was never a good brother - he never treated me like anything other than dirt, he killed my cat and I've seen what he is capable of. I understand what must be done. My mother, she has changed - she has always loved Joffrey a little more than me - I know it. She have never said it - but I know it," he sadly stared at his hands. "If she realise that we are about to lose she might kill us all."
