Hey guys!

Sorry it's been a week, but this week was my last week in Uni before Easter, so I was busy trying to get everything finished and sorted :) And my sister's puppy was really sick and my sister and her husband were working during the day, so I was looking after their puppy when I wasn't in Uni. But thankfully she's getting better :)

CHAPTER FOUR

“How long is this going to take?” Dani asked Dr Harper, as we made our way towards the MRI room.

“Anywhere between twenty minutes to forty minutes, I’ll try and be as quick as I can.” He looked down at her and smiled, before helping the nurses steer the bed around the corner.

“Are you sure you don’t want me to stay in the room with you?” I asked her, for what must’ve been the fifth time, just to make sure she hadn’t changed her mind.

“I’m sure,” she didn’t want me to stay with her while she’s having the scan, she said she can do it herself. Since my friend Maddie came in to check how things are going, Dani said I shouldn’t make her wait on her own while I’m in the scan with Dani.

“I’ll be in the next room anyway and I’ll be talking to you throughout the whole scan, so you’ll not really be on your own.”

“It’s not that I’m worried about, I don’t really like confined spaces all that much,” she’s never done confined spaces well, ever since she got stuck in an elevator when she was younger.

“Don’t worry, I’ll give you a technique you can use to keep calm,” he gave her a reassuring smile. “These nurses will get you ready while I talk to you sister for a minute,” he told her and held the door open for them.

“I’ll see you when the scan is finished Dani,” I gave her a smile and squeezed her hand gently.

“See you later,” she smiled at me, before the nurses took her into the room. I let out a breath and folded my arms across her chest, as the door to the room closed. I really didn’t like letting her do this on her own, but she wanted to do it herself.

“You don’t need to worry about her, she’ll be fine, I’ll make sure of it.”

I looked up at Dr Harper, who was smiling down at me warmly. “I know,” I smiled and nodded, before looking back at the door to the room. “I just know how much she doesn’t like confined spaces, so I want to make sure she doesn’t get to restless.” I just want to make sure she stays calm and doesn’t get to nervous being in the scanner.

“I’ll make sure she stays calm, I’ll look after her,” he said again with a laugh. “Why don’t you and your friend go down to the café and get a coffee? I’ll come and get you when we’re finished,” he suggested and I nodded in agreement.

“You’ll let me know if anything happens or when it’s finished?” I know he would let me know, but I just needed to ask him to put my mind a rest.

“You have my word,” he confirmed with a nod of his head.

“Thanks, I’ll talk to you soon,” I gave him a small smile, before we went our separate directions. This is going to be a long half an hour.

“So how are you doing?” Maddie asked me, as we sat down in the café after getting something to drink.

“Exhausted,” I laughed and shook my head slightly, before taking a sip of my coffee. “I do go home at night, just to give her some peace on her own so she can sleep, but I don’t sleep when I go home.” I always worry at night that something will happen and, because I want to make sure I’m awake if they call, I never sleep.
