Hey guys!!

Sorry it's been so long, but I've just been busy this week with Uni & other stuff! But I hope the wait was worth it and you enjoy this chapter! :) The next chapter they finally get out of the hospital!

So Alan Rickman announced that he was married on Friday, which broke my heart. But the day after when I ordered a bag online, the website listed me as married and put 'Mrs' on my order slip. This clearly isn't a coincidence, so he definitely married me ;) So you can all be happy for me :P

CHAPTER EIGHT

"Do you want me to get you anything while I'm downstairs?" I asked Dani as I set a glass of water on the table beside her.

"No, I'm okay thanks," she smiled and leant forward, before tying her hair up in a bun.

"If I'm not back here before you finish, I'll meet you back in the room," I told her with a smile. "I shouldn't be that much longer than you, if I am at all," I looked over at Dr Harper to check that I was right.

"You'll probably meet each other half way," he said with a smile. "You're all set to go, Dr Reid is on his way down now and will be here in a couple of minutes. We're going to go downstairs now, but Nurse Anderson is here of you need anything before Dr Reid gets here."

"We'll see you in a bit," I smiled at her and placed my hand on her shoulder briefly, before walking around to Dr Harper. Dr Harper and I left Dani and the nurse in the room, before Dr Harper closed the door behind us.

"Don't worry about her, she'll be fine, she's done this before," he looked down at me and smiled.

"I know, but I'd still like to be there," I would like to be there to make sure she's okay.

Today was Dani's second day of radiotherapy, she had her first one yesterday and it went well. At least not she knows what happens during one of the sessions and what to expect, so I do feel a bit better about leaving her alone. And it isn't like she's on her own or doesn't know who the doctor is, because Dr Reid her oncologist is doing the sessions. But I can't be with her today, because I'm finally getting around to getting that MRI the Dr Harper wanted me to do.

"This won't take long, so you'll be able to check on her in no time," he reassured me.

"Do you know I've never been this worried or protective over Dani," I told him with a slight laugh. "Obviously I worry about her a lot and I am probably too overprotective, but it got worse when we got here."

"But that's understandable, she was only six when you lost your parents and she's still young." He said as we walked into the elevator, "I've been the same ever since I've been looking after my sister. They're the only family we've got and we're the only family they have, so of course we're going to be protective over them. You're responsible for them as a guardian now instead of just an older sibling," he pressed the button for the ground floor and the doors closed.

"I know, but sometime I think I worry about her too much and, because I'm so protective, I worry then I'm holding her back." I worry about this all the time, thinking that I'm going a bad job looking after her.

"You're doing something which you never thought would happen, so you're obviously going to make mistakes, I've definitely made mistakes. But you were thrown into all of this, there's no such thing as the perfect parent or guardian, you can only do the best you can." He looked over at me and smiled, whilst folding his arms across his chest.
