CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

"You can't be serious," I looked up at Harrison and shook my head slightly, as we walked across the car park. He told me to drop my car off at my house on the way to his 'surprise', saying that there was no point us both driving.

"Of course I'm serious, it's important that we settle this," he gave me a serious look. "You cheated last time, so we need a rematch," he walked over to the small hut, to get us some golf clubs and golf balls.

I shook my head and walked into the main mini golf place, waiting for Harrison to get our stuff. I must admit, it was cute that this was his surprise, it was nice to do what we did on our first date. Though I was still hoping that we would be able to sit down and talk, because there are still some things that I wanted to talk about. I know that we kind of made up about Wednesday, but we started talking about other things and I still feel like there's still more we could talk about.

"Orange or green?" Harrison appeared beside me, whilst holding out two golf balls in his hand.

"Green," I smiled and took the green ball from him, before he handed me a club and we walked to the first hole.

"Try not to cheat this time, I think we should find out who is actually better at mini golf," he smirked down at me.

"I don't need to cheat to win, I know I'm better than you," I scoffed and set my ball at the start of the hole.

"Well if you don't win, I'm not giving you your surprise, so you better make sure you win."

"Hang on, is this not the surprise?" I looked over at him with a confused look, not expecting him to say that this wasn't the surprise.

"Of course not, this isn't good enough to apologise for what I did," he said with a laugh. "Trust me, you'll love what I have for you, so you better make sure you win or it'll all go to waste and you'll keep wondering what it was." He smiled and nodded towards the first hole, telling me to go on and take my turn.

"You'd really be mean enough to tell me you have something for me, then not give me it?" I teased him with a smile, before I stepped up to my golf ball and took my first shot.

"I will give you it, but I think it'll make things interesting," he said and took my space as I stepped away. "By the way, since we got here a bit late, we can only play eight holes," he glanced back at me and smiled apologetically.

"That's fine, I won't need more than that to beat you," I looked down at my watch and saw it was only ten past nine. We came to a different mini golf place this time, but I would imagine that it's open until half nine like the other late night golf.

"You won't beat me, as much as I want to give you what I got you, I'm playing to win my pride back. So don't think I'm just going to let you win," he took his shot, before smiling over at me. "Where's Dani tonight then; is she at home?" He asked to change the topic, as we walked the short distance to where our golf balls had ended up.

"No she's over at a friend's house, she's not back until midnight," I shook my head slightly. I was slightly worried about her and if she was okay, because this is the longest that she's been out since she left the hospital.
