CHAPTER FORTY-SIX

"What time is Dani's appointment at?" Maddie asked me, as we sat down at a table to catch up over dinner.

"Not until seven," I was actually quite glad that it was later, because I need a break after work. "How was work today then?"

"Yeah it was alright, pretty boring," she laughed slightly and set the bag on the seat beside her. "Between work and planning this freaking wedding, I need a holiday," she shook her head.

"Or just a large drink," I joked with a laugh, knowing just how she felt about needing just a break. "Can you not take a few days off work? I'm sure you've gotten most of the wedding planning finished," I would guess that they couldn't have much more to do.

"I'm waiting for Dan to sort a few days off first, because it'll be harder for him to get them off. But obviously I'm still waiting cause it takes him forever to sort anything out," she rolled her eyes.

"Typical man then," I know what she means, Harrison is exactly the same.

"I'll probably have to remind him half a dozen more times," she said, as a waiter stopped by our table.

After quickly glancing at the menu, ordering and getting some drinks, we went back to catching up. "So how're you getting on with Harrison? Any contact from him today then?" She obviously knows that Harrison and I still aren't talking, but I haven't see here face-to-face to properly talk to her about it.

"Nope, still nothing," I smiled slightly and shook my head.

"Have you tried to talk to him yet?"

"Why should I be the one to try? I know I'm being stubborn, but he was the one that left my house and hasn't contacted me since." I know I was being stubborn, really stubborn actually, but I think he should make the effort to talk to me.

"Haven't you learnt from the last time you were both being stubborn?" She smirked at me slightly, trying to remind me of the last time I waited for him to make the first move.

"I know, but this is different," I do think this is a completely different situation. "He was the one to leave me, so I think that he should be the one to come to me to talk about it. I don't want to talk to him, if he doesn't want to talk to me." I would feel stupid if I tried to talk to him and he just brushed me off, something he probably would do.

"At least you would know what's going on," she countered, whilst leaning against the table. "This is what the problem is in your relationship; both of you are just as stubborn as each other. Someone just needs to talk to the other," she said it as if it was that simple.

"And that should be him, because he clearly doesn't want to talk to me," I know if he did he would've called me on Saturday. "And our problem is Tom, we've always been stubborn and we've been okay." I really do think Tom is the biggest problem for us, because we've never had any great issues before he came along. Maybe the odd argument about something stupid, but the main things was when I treated him badly when Dani was readmitted.

"Yeah so what happened yesterday? I only really understood the full story," she furrowed her eyebrows slightly. I did text her late last night to tell her what happened with Tom, but it was hard to explain everything over text.
