The One That Got Away

Chapter 6: Dream

A picture of a blurred woman laughing with him again appeared in his dream. They looked so happy. Strolling the city, sharing each other's ice creams, chasing each other, laughing with each other. He looked into her eyes as if she was his life.. Then..slowly...slowly... As the laughters subsided he disappeared. The woman stayed, but crying in pain.

"Ian". My wife woke me up.

"You're dreaming again.." She said while she gave me a water.

I nooded. "It's the girl again.. I don't know but my heart aches whenever I'm dreaming of her"

"Sus, Baka naman isa lang siya sa mga chicks mo!" She laughed.

"No.. I don't know."

"Okay, let's continue to sleep hon?"

I nooded. We lay again on the bed hugging each other. She uses my chest as her pillow and I gladly wrapped my arm around her body. I still thinking of the woman who just then appeared in my dreams for the past 2 weeks. I have been dreaming of her simula ng bumalik kami ng pilipinas. Hirap akong aninagin ang mukha niya dahil sa Malabo nga Ito. Pero base sa panaginip ko, masaya kami. She's not my wife. Hindi ko pa siya nakikita, or Baka nakita ko na siya, hindi ko Lang maalala.

"Daddy!! Mommy!! Waaaakkkeee up!"

Oh here she goes again!

"Trixie!! Please let daddy sleep more." I said. I just don't feel like waking up that early. I head is aching again.

"Trixie!! Come! Your dad needs some more rest. Let's go down and we'll be cooking breakfast!!" My wife said.

Trixie nooded. She come to kiss my cheeks and greeted me a good morning but returned with a lazy morning greeting. My wife on the other hand shook her head and proceeded downstairs. My wife is always been the most understanding woman I know next to my mom. She's Carla. We've been together for 4 years now, and has a daughter named Trixie Viel. Iam living the life I always wanted to be. A perfect family. A perfect life.

I so continue my sleep. But the hysterically beeping of my phone eventually woke me up. I lazily picked my phone and stared at the screen since it was blurry. I saw mark's name popped in. I smiled and answer it.

"Hello?".

"Bro! Nagbalik ka na pala! Kelan pa??"

"2 weeks na ko sa pinas bro! So what's up??"

"Reunion naman tayo! Yes naman! Makukumpleto na ang champs!!"

"Wow! Yeah! Sure, sure!"

"Uhm..free ka ba tonight?"

"Wait.."

"..yes bro! Free ako!"

"Good! So I'll Text nalang yung iba. I'll text you the details later?"

"Okay..okay!! Bye!"

"Bye.. See you!"

"Shiiiiiiiinnnn!!!" The man spoke so loud on the other line.

"Maaaaaaacc!!" Shin answered mark's call.

"Huwaw! I missed your voice!!" Mark laughed.

Shin laughed too.

"Uy! Reunion tayo!! I don't need a no answer".
