Chapter 16: Hatred

"Anak ko si yzian?"

Tila may anumang bigat akong naramdaman sa dibdib ko when those words came out from my mouth.

Different emotions thats fighting against each other within me. Joy, hate, anger, confusion. All in one row.

They both froze like a deer caught in a headlight. Erik is the first to cope up and sigh heavily. While shin still hanging in there trying to process whats happening. Then I repeat myself.

"Shin.. anak ko ba si yzian?"

I asked more aggresively this time.

But the moment I looked at her, she wiped her falling tear. I looked at erik and asked him.

"Bro, ano anak ko ba yung bata? Ano to?"

Because honestly? Naguguluhan na ako sa nangyayari. This cant be happening. What if anak ko nga yung bata? My life will be ruined. My family will be ruined.

"Bro kalma." Erik tapped my shoulders

"Pano ako kakalma bro? Ha? Pano? Mismo dyan sa bibig mo nanggalin na hayaan na magpaka ama ako sa bata? Erik ano to?"

 Surely one thing remains. Anger.

"Anong kalokohan to? You know I cant be calm, when I know that it may have ruin my family. Sure ba kayo na ako ang ama ni yzian?"

He knows he love that kid, but at this very moment, kapakanan ng pamilya niya ang iniisip niya. He didnt want to wreck the family that hes been trying to built. Kat and Trixie is his life.

"O pinaaako lang niya sa akin yung bata kahit sa ibang lalake pala?"

This shocked erik and shin.

Thats it. Ian became the person he once hated. Nag-iba na siya. He's no longer the Ian that everybody knows. He's no longer the man whom everyone look up to. He became the person he said he will never be.

Shin move forward and gained all her strength and slapped him hard to his right cheek. Sa lakas ng pagkakasampal na natamo niya ay muntik na siyang mabingi.

"NARIRINIG MO BA YANG SINASABI MO IAN?? OO! ANAK MO SI YZIAN! ANAK NA INABANDONA MO APAT NA TAON NG NAKALILIPAS.PERO WAG KANG MAG-ALALA. HINDI AKO O ANG ANAK KO ANG MAKAKASIRA DIYAN SA PAMILYA MO."

Ian felt there dumfounded.

"Ngayong alam mo na, makakaalis ka na."

He didnt want to hear anything of it.

He slowly move backwards runaway.

Once Ian is out of their sight, erik came up and hugged shin.

"Kung alam ko lang kung ganito yung mangyayari, sana sinabi ko na sayo nuon pa" erik thought.

Ian stepped on his gas pedal and immediately went out of the hospital.  Palayo na ng palayo ang nararating niya, mga gusaling nagtatayuan ay naging mga puno na ang nadadaanan. No specific place to go to. Nag iisip isip. Hes trying to remember something but he couldnt.

What does he did to his life that it became this  miserable?

All he wanted was to have a perfect family. Kat, trixie and him. Just the three of them. The walls that he built to protect his family is slowly turning into ashes.

He hated shin.

He hated yzian.

He hated all of it.

He hated the fact that he has another child from another woman. He hated the fact that he has an illegitimate child. He hated the fact that he loved that woman when all he did is to vow all his love for kat.

Anger prevailed into his deepest soul.

"This cant be happening" he whispered.

He stopped his car and lean his head on his sterring wheel. Crying.

Meanwhile in the hospital.

Shin breakaway from Erik's hug. She wiped her tears and hugged herself back to Yzian's room.

While Erik is fighting with his emotions within him. Alam niyang sa pagkakataon na to wala siyang karapatan na sabihin kung ano yung totoo but shin needs to know the truth. Truth that if he mentioned it to Shin four years ago he knows that her life wouldn't be this miserable.

"I'm going to tell her." He decided.

Erik followed Shin inside the room and the scene that he's witnessing now broaden his determination to tell shin the long hidden truth about Ian's runaway drama four years ago.

"Shin?.."

Shin stopped caressing his daughter's hands the she looked at me while she wiped her tears. And responded me with a moan.

"Shin.. sorry may kailangan kang malaman."
