Chapter 14: Clear your Mind

"Uy nagseselos ka no?"

Bigla akong naalimpungatan sa sinabi ni Erik. Yzian has been sick again for the past few days, her fever is on and off and sometimes, she vomits, sometimes she's also complaining with the chest pain kaya ilang gabi nadin akong hindi nakakatulog ng maayos.

We're here at erik's condo for the champs reunion. Syempre welcome naman mga partners ng bawat isa, pero ang may kapartner lang ngayon eh si Ian. He's with her wife.

Yeah, his wife.

Na walang ibang ginawa kundi ang tignan ako ng masama everytime I passes by her and become extra too sweet to ian.

"huh? wag ka nga!" i leaned my back at his black sofa and relaxed my muscles.

"kumusta na si yzian?" He asked.

"Still sick. Im suspecting nga na dengue eh at chest pains din" inayos ni erik ang upo niya at tumabi sa akin.

"Dinala mo na ba sa ospital? baka complications nanaman yun sa heart niya? wala pa ba kayong nakikitang donor?" he sincerely asked.

I leaned my head at his shoulder and sigh. "Wala pa nga eh. Walang nagmamatch, wala nading stock sa Heart Center pati narin sa London wala pa din. Hindi ko na nga alam gagawin ko. Magfofour years old na yung anak ko at wala man lang akong magawa para madugtungan pa yung buhay niya" I wiped the tear that was threathening to fall. At some point, I'm actually getting tired from all of it. Pero ano namang klase akong Ina, kung ako mismo ang susuko sa kanya.

"Bat di ka humingi ng tulong kay ian?" He lowered his voice and cautious enough for not Ian nor kat to hear them.

"Paano ko naman gagawin yun? ni hindi nga niya alam na anak nya yung bata eh." Shin rolled her eyes.

"what??! hanggang ngayon hindi mo pa sinasabi sa kanya? shin naman!" he stood up and went to the kitchen. I followed him.

"Para ano pa ten? masaya na sila! they have the perfect life! he has now a happy family!..."

"...while you're here miserable in fighting for your child's life, alone!. Shin ano ba!" He continued.

"So what were you saying? Na ipaalam ko sa kanya? Na idamay ko pa siya sa problema ko? Na ipagsiksikan ko pa sa kanila yung buhay naming mag-ina?"

"oo shin! dahil hindi ko na kayang makita kang nahihirapan! ayaw ko ring dadating yung araw na sisisihin ako ng bestfriend ko kung bakit hindi ko sinabi sa kanya para may nagawa din naman siya! for heaven's sake shin! anak nya yung bata!"

"Hindi. Wala siyang pwedeng malaman pa. Magugulo lang buhay niya. He wants this, in the first place, so bat ko naman ipagkakait sa kanya diba?" I rolled again my eyes at him.

"Bakit ba sa tingin mo ang dahilan kung bakit umuwi pa kayo ng Pilipinas? Diba dahil kay Ian?"

"What?! No!" Shin protested.

"Because if youre going to be honest with yourself, you came home because youre still hoping that maybe...just maybe, when you meet him again, Ian would change his mind and come back to you again and that you can give your child a complete family." Thats it. Finally, Erik blurted out what he's been triying to hide eversince she came home.

"So, all this time, yan yung iniisip mo sa akin? Yes. Every fucking day, im still hoping that one day ian would change his mind and come back to me, and i would gladly accept him again in our lives. Pero nakakapagod maghintay. Nakakapagod umasa na sa bawat doorbel na naririnig ko, its him waiting for me to open the door. Pero bumaliktad lahat, ng makaramdam ako ng paghihirap. Ng mamatayan ako ng anak at ni anino niya hindi ko manlang nakita."

Bakas sa mata ni shin ang lungkot at galit sa puso niya. Na all this time, its still about him that they're talking. That the hurt that he gave her still the same pain four years ago.

Erik on the otherhand felt numb upon the mention of child's death. Shin's child. Shin and Ian's.

"What could have the chances that shin has another child, that shes been hiding eversince?  Oh my god" he tought.

.. Then in the middle of confrontation, shin's phone rang hysterically. Erik stopped. Shin checked her phone and it was her mom. She felt her heart raised.

"Shin, si yzian.."

"Ma bakit?? anong nangyri??" This caughed everyones attention. Shin's tears starting to form again.

"Andito na kami sa makati med anak, nahihirap na kasi yung anak mong huminga eh kaya dinala na namin dito ng papa mo, hindi naman tumatalab yung mga gamot niya sa bahay... Anak anjan ka pa??"

Sa pagkagulat ni Shin sa balita ng ina ay napatulala nalang siya. Lumapit sakanya ang mga kaibigan at si Ian na kakapasok lang sa loob matapos ihatid and asawa sa labas.

"Opo ma.. Ma kumusta na siya?" Nanginginig na tanong ni shin sa ina na nasa kabilang linya.

"chineck pa siya ng doctor anak."

"ma pakihintay po ako jan ah, pupunta na po ako."

"Sige.. Anak relax ka lang, she will be fine. Ingat sa pagdadrive pa hatid ka nalang din kay Erik oh sino man jan. Baka mapano ka pa sa daan"

"Sige po ma. Salamat"

Then that ended the call. "halika na shin." Erik offered.

"Wag na maaabala ka pa, ako na, kaya ko naman eh."

"Shin! anong kaya mo? tignan mo nga oh, nagpapale ka na at nanginginig na rin mga kamay mo."

"Eh diba sira yung car mo kuya?" Sarah asked Erik.

"Ah.. edi.." Erik is trying to find some remedy to their problem when he caught Ian entering the kitchen"

"Edi si Ian. Bro, dali handa mo na yung car mo! Makati med tayo. Bilis."

"Erik." Pinandilatan naman ito ni shin.

"Relax, sasama ako. Tara na." Shin wiped her remaining tears and followed Erik.

Ian's pov

I just got back from Erik's condo when suddenly I saw them circling around shin. Shes taking the call and she seems crying. I dont know what I'm feeling. But its kinda weird whenever I saw her crying. I hate when shes crying. Like I wanna punch everyone in the face whos making her cry.

Then suddenly Erik called my name.

"Edi si Ian. Bro, dali handa mo na yung car mo! Makati med tayo. Bilis."

I got startled. I don' know what to do.

"Bro, handa mo yung kotse mo. Bilis, shin needs to get to the hospital now!" Mark

Then I came back to my senses and run towards the door then erik and shin immediately followed me.

I started the engine and fixed the rear view mirror and there I saw shin. Tulala. A lot of things is going through her mind. Then she spoke.

"Please Ian, pakibilis yung pagdadrive, kailangan ako ng anak ko please, Ian." Shin pleaded while tears streaming down her face.

I nooded and concentrated on the road. But a lot of things is going through my head as well.

My head hurts, and the picture of a woman in my dream flashed in my head again. Its not blurry anymore.

Then thats when I realized that the woman is Shin. Multiple questions came crashing to my head again.

But I just realized that in my dreams which used to be my nightmares,

"Iam the happiest man on earth when Iam with her. But I left her."
