I changed into my workout tank and yoga pants and began pulling my hair up into a messy bun. If Mr. Aizawa wasn't downstairs yet, I planned to go to the gym and get started on my own. I grabbed my UA sports jacket and tennis shoes and skipped down the stairs.
As I entered the commons, I saw most of my classmates sitting around laughing and enjoying their breakfast. I didn't see Mr. Aizawa but Tsu was coming out of the bathrooms.
"Hey Tsu, did Mr. Aizawa give us any details about our schedule for the day?"
"Not that I'm aware of. He just said he'd let us know," she shrugged.
"I'm gonna head to the gym to start my workout. Can you text me if he makes any kind of announcement?"
"Sure."
"Thanks, Tsu," I said as I headed out the door.
As expected of a hero school, the athletic complex at UA was extensive. I entered gym alpha, a facility filled with different types of exercise equipment. I checked out the weight lifting setup but I never lifted solo without a spotter, so I went through my body weight exercises instead. There were attached studios off the main room set up for different purposes. One looked like a dance studio with mirrors and hard floors. Another looked to be set up for yoga with mats on the floor and a shelf of accessories in the corner. The next room over was full of sparring equipment. Punching bags of all different sizes, gloves and targets for sparring practice, and what I was secretly hoping for.
I stepped up to the sparring machine and began scrolling through the workout options. I found a kickboxing option that looked interesting and quickly grabbed a pair of wraps for my hands.
As I started the workout, it took me a little bit of time to adjust to sparring with a machine instead of a person but once I got the hang of it, I began to enjoy myself. As I finished the session, I removed the wraps from my hands and went to clean the area but was startled by someone leaning against the wall observing me."You're good. You must have had an excellent teacher."
"The best money can buy," I said with a slight eye roll as I went back to wipe down the pads I'd been using.
"I started your classmates on a workout regimen but Asui told me you had headed out earlier. Not that I'm surprised after seeing your father's training schedule."
"I'll be honest I haven't opened his email yet," I said as I sat down on the mat and began to stretch.
"I would say don't bother because we both know you won't be following it," Mr. Aizawa said with a knowing look, "but I do want to know if it's consistent with what you were doing previously."
I grabbed my phone from the pocket of my sports jacket and opened up the dreaded email from my father. I scanned the attached document for anything irregular. "Yeah this is the exact same schedule I used at home, although he did take into account I'm not commuting anymore and added an extra half hour into my afternoon block."
"And the menu that your mother provided?"
I scrolled further and saw the note from my mother, detailing my diet as well as instructions provided by our chef on how to prepare it properly. A sigh escaped me before I could stop it, "Yep, that's the same too."
"How long has your schedule been like this?"
"This schedule and menu were both put in place after the sports festival. It was a bit more flexible prior to that."
"How flexible are we talking? I want specifics, Satori."
"It's not that big of a deal Mr. Aizawa. I've been training to be a hero since I was ten. That meant a reasonably healthy diet that only became overly strict in the past year or so and training for a few hours after school."
