Iida rushed through the front door of the dorm, shutting it quickly behind him to keep out the cold air. He held up several small pieces of paper in his hand as he spoke. "Ashido, Kirishima, Satori, Shoji, Sero, and Mineta. You all have packages up front. Take your receipts and go pick them up."

"Thanks, Iida," I grumbled in unison with the others. I grabbed my coat and the slip of paper with my name on it and made my way to the school office. With the holidays and winter break around the corner, the amount of packages arriving at UA were immense. Instead of delivering them, the faculty developed a system where the students would be notified and then pick up their own packages from the office.

Our class had decided to have a party on Christmas, including a gift exchange. I had chosen to package up some homemade sweets for my gift, but there were specialty ingredients that I needed to order. I assumed the package waiting for me would be the baking supplies I ordered. But upon reaching the office, I was handed two packages, much to my surprise.

"What'd ya get, Satori?" Kirishima asked after seeing my excited expression.

I held up the smaller box of the two with a grin. "It's Shoto's Christmas present. I wasn't expecting it to get here already. I had to custom order it and I was nervous it wouldn't be here in time."

"What is it? Something sexy?" Mineta said with a leer.

"Gross," Mina said, eyeing the other boy with disgust. "You'd better not let Todoroki hear you say stuff like that. He'll kick the crap out of you. Wait," she paused and dramatically threw out her hands, as though to stop all of us in our tracks. "Do us all a favor and say something pervy about Kana in front of him. I'm sure he'll make you pay."

As the pair continued to bicker, I couldn't help but chuckle at their antics. I turned away from them, though, when Sero rested an elbow on my shoulder while we walked.

"I hope it's something awesome, Satori, cuz Roki went a bit overboard in my...mmph."

I looked up to see one of Shoji's hands covering Sero's mouth.

"Ignore him, Satori," Shoji said, hoisting his own package under one arm and pulling Sero along with him. He lowered his voice, but I still managed to overhear. "We all worked hard to help him, don't ruin the surprise."

Christmas was only a few days away, so I didn't have long to wait, but now I was curious. Just what kind of surprise had Shoto planned?

"Attention. I have an announcement."

I sat up a little straighter in my seat, surprised at Mr. Aizawa's serious tone. It was the end of the day, right before winter break was set to start. He wasn't cruel enough to give us a big assignment over the holidays, right?

"A decision has been made regarding your futures. After break, all of you will be doing mandatory work studies. You are free to set up your own with contacts you've made. Those of you who did them previously are welcome to go back to your agencies. If you do not have an agency to go to, one will be assigned to you. Take some time over break to think about it and let me know if you'll need to be assigned somewhere. One other item of note, the school has decided to allow all students to go home for the New Year's holiday. Sometime over break, we will be arranging your schedules for your visits, so contact your families and begin discussing your transportation preferences. You're dismissed."

Now that winter break had finally started, excitement filled the air and the conversations around me were lively, despite the cold air whipping around us, as we walked back to our dorm. Discussions ranged from excitement at the prospect of going home, plans for what to do during our break, and nerves over where we would be doing our work studies. But upon reaching the dorm, Iida brought everyone to attention.
