ROSS'S POV

I woke up from a long nap I took. I showered and got dressed up. I went skating to the party hoping not too many people would be there.

When I arrived I saw Charlie with a girl. She was blonde so I knew it wasn't Maia. I went closer and found and attractive girl.

"Hey Charlie" I waved
He waved back and the girl turned and we made eye contact.
She smiled and called me to come.
Dang who's this chick?

"Hey I'm Maddie Charlie's cousin" she winked
"Are you staying over?" I asked
"Yeah for the summer while my parents are off on vacation" Maddie said
"I'm ross by the way" I said sitting down
"I'm going to the swings Maddie" Charlie ran to the swings
"You're my neighbor now Maddie" I said to her and she sat beside me.
"You live next door?" She asked
"Yeah have you met Maia?" I said
"Mhm she told me she was tired because she had a long night yesterday so I talked to her for a few minutes" she giggled
"She did" I laughed
"How did you? Wait you went to the party she went too?" She laughed
"Yeah I saw her there. So Maddie where did you come from because you don't sound Australian like Maia." I said looking at her while she looked over to Charlie
"Well I was born there but soon moved to New York and my parents didn't want to leave me there so they left me here with my aunt and uncle for the summer" Maddie said as she ran her fingers through my hair
"That's cool" I backed up and got up
"Oh sorry it's just that your hair is long and nice" she blushed
"It's okay well I have to go! nice meeting you. We should hang some time." I hugged her and skated back home.

MAIA'S POV

Mom and I are making dinner and Charlie and Maddie just came home.

"We are back mother" Charlie yelled
"Hey" Maddie smiled
"Hi" I said mixing the salad.
"I met this really cute guy today and he asked me if I wanted to hang out. The coolest part is that he lives next door" she smiled

Please tell me this isn't Ross! Let it be Riker or Rocky or anyone else.

"What's his name?" I asked curiously
"Ross" she blushed
"Oh" I turned red.
"He's so hot you don't even know" she daydreamed.

Uhm I do know. And don't try to steal him away from me. I really hope Ross doesn't go out asking this girl out. I mean she's pretty and all but why. He can't I know him he wouldn't. Would he? Maia just shut up and make this salad.

Later in the night I heard the doorbell ring. I ran to the door and opened it.

"Hey Maia" ross smiled
"Ross hey!" I said "What are you doing here?"

He kept talking but I didn't pay attention to him. I just fell into his eyes.

"So is she here?" He said
"Huh who?" I was confused.
"Maddie?" He laughed
"Oh yeah? uh let me call her" I said

I went to her room and saw her doing her makeup. Look like she already knew he was coming.

"Ross is looking for you?" I said
"Oh he's already here?" She got up and walked to him

I went back pretending to look for something and overheard their conversation.

R- "Hey Maddie"
Maddie- "hi Ross"
R- "where do you wanna go"
M- "anywhere really! I just want to hang out with you"
R- "well I don't know where uhm Maia hey can you help us with something"

Really why me? Ross just wants to make me feel even worse.
I turned and faced them.

"What happen?" I asked
"Where's a cool place to hang out here?" He asked me
"Uhm are you guys going on a date?" I said

They looked at each other and smiled.

"Uhm kind of I guess" Maddie said

"Well then go see a movie or go to the beach I don't know? Does it look like I have a date?" I said getting upset

"Hmm so where" he asked Maddie.

They were pissing me off so I walked away and ran upstairs. Since I felt like pissing Ross off I asked him if Rydel was home so we can talk about cute guys.

"She's home yeah" he said
"Okay cool have fun on your date" I said and left with Rydel.

I knocked on Rydels door and she was upset as well.

"What's wrong?" I said hugging her
"There's this guy I like but he's with this other girl. And I thought he liked me" she sobbed
"Girl I feel you so much" I said laying on the floor as well.
"Ugh guys are so fucken complicated Maia. One day your like I like you so much and the next your like douche" Rydel got up and got tissues.
"I know right! I'm going through the same thing. And the BEST part of this is that my cousin who moved in thinks she can just do whatever ugh" I told Rydel
"We need boyfriends Maia. Then guys will be like damn why didn't we go for her instead" she joked
"That's a great idea" I laughed
"I know we need to start planning" Rydel got serious and began to think.
"Wait you're serious?" I said
"Yup. We are going to find a guy who we will like" Rydel opened her closet and laughed so hard
