ROSS'S POV

These past few days have been weird. Maia hasn't been out of her house and hasn't even spoke to Rydel. Her curtains from her window have been shut and not open either. What's going on? Should I check on her? I pull a shirt down and run my fingers through my hair to fix it really quick. I decide to go "see" Maddie but that's just my excuse to go and see what's happening to Maia or if anything is wrong.

I run downstairs and go past my sister.

"Where you going Ross" she asks
"Uh seeing Mai- Maddie" I almost spilled it

"Your Maddie?" She looks at me in a weird way
"Yeah" I open the door and run off to her parents house. I walk through the path leading to her door.

Knock knock.

Soon I get Charlie to open the door.

"Hello Ross" he says letting me in
"Sup little guy" i shake his hair
"Maddie's showering right now" Charlie goes back to watch cartoons
"And Maia?" I said sitting on the couch
"She's been upstairs a lot. She told me she's feeling sick so we've been leaving her alone" Charlie looks at me
"Do you mind if I go see how she's doing" I ask
"No go ahead" he eats

I walk upstairs and softly knock on her door.

"Charlie what do you want" she slowly turns the door.
"Uh ross? Wait let me.. Let me change" she closes the door again and opens it a little after

"How you been? Rydel's been worried" I said
"Oh I'm fine" she smiles pulling her hair back into a ponytail
"You sure Maia? It looks like you haven't slept in days" I see her bags under her eyes.
"It's just that I'm tired is all"
She plays with her hands
"How's Maddie have you sang her the song" she asks

The song. The song that I've wrote about someone else. This someone who has my heart tied up into knots.

"No I haven't" I say sitting in her chair
"Well you should" she gets up and picks up her laptop.

"Ross! Hey you came" Maddie comes in my room hugging Ross.
"Mhm" I slowly smile
"Maia it's about time you open up" Maddie tells Maia
I see Maia roll her eyes a bit as she's doing something on her laptop. Now I know that they don't get along much. Makes sense.

I get out of her room and go downstairs to talk to Maddie. I zone out for a second thinking about what Maia told me. The song.

MAIA'S POV

So does he really care about me? I don't know. I should definitely go and see Trent today. I haven't seen him in 3 days and I really miss his face. I shower and get dressed. I go downstairs and see Ross and Maddie kissing. I think I'm blind now. I walk past them and get my purse.

"Charlie I'll be back in an hour" I yell
"You're leaving?" Maddie asks pulling away from Ross
"I'm going to go with Ross right now Maia take him" she gives me an attitude
"Excuse me but he likes you better" I turn back to her
"Well he isn't my belonging" she says back
"Neither is Ross!" I look at her eyes

I can't handle her anymore. I slam the door and run to the beach. I here a voice behind me.

I stop and a tear runs down my face.

"Maia! What's wrong why are you crying" Rocky says
"Rocky" I cry as he hugs me
"Who made you cry?" He asks looking at me
"It's nothing I have to go" I wipe me tears and wave

I walk away but he doesn't stop there he pulls me back.

"Maia please what's wrong?" He asks again holding my shoulders
"I had a fight with my cousin and she's a bitch that's all Rocky" I smile softly
"Well then that makes two of us Maddie can be a bitch" he laughs
"Rocky I've got to go see someone I'll talk to you later when I go see Rydel" this time he doesn't follow when I walk away

I get closer to the surf shop Trent works at. I walk into the store but I don't find him there. He must not be working today. I'll just go walk along the shore and try to forget about things.

I start walking and see a couple ahead sitting and laughing. I wish I could be with Trent like that right now. I get closer and closer. The couple starts kissing. I pass by and see Trent's lips on another girl who happens to one of my friends. Ex friends.
