Audition

MAIA'S POV

"Maia Mitchell next up" I've arrived to the audition in Australia with Jess and my family. They were waiting in the back of the theatre while me and Jess freaked out. We had to make up our own lines and act so I made up a scene about feeling lost because that's all I could think and feel. I looked at Jess and freaked out when I had to go on stage.

"You'll do just great Maia go" Jess pushed me.
"Okay okay" I breathed

I walked and say the judges and many other people who looked important I guess. They said that their would be producers looking for actors to be in their shows or movies.

I started my lines and went deep with the scene. I've practice this before but this time I actually feel the depth and passion. I started to cry and dropped to the floor.

"And all I ask is that you be my peace. I don't need an escape, perfection, or any of that, just be my balance my crazy life needs at times. This world will constantly have you at odds with yourself, and though I have to look up at God for guidance, it would still be nice to have a partner that brought more peace than pain. I'd rather laugh with you than lie to you. I'd rather grow up with you and go without you. But I'm not into forcing anything. Than again how could I if I can't be with you" I ended the scene and wiped the tears away.

I looked up and saw what I've never seen before; a crowd of hundreds of people stand up clapping and cheering. A huge grin appeared on my face.

"That was excellent Miss Maia." One of the judges said
"Thank you so much" I waved and walked back stage.

"Maia!!!" Jess ran up to me
"Was it good" I asked and she stepped back.
"Is that even a question! Did you not see everyone get up out of their seats? They haven't done that! Congrats" she yelled again

"Jess Green next up" I cheered to hear she was next
"Go make them laugh now" I smirked
"Oh they'll be laughing the second I begin to talk" she walked on stage now.

Once she was done she had the entire room busting.
She came back with a smirk on her face.
"And as I told you, I would have them laughing the second I began to talk" she laughed
Right after we went outside to meet up with my parents.

"Maia you made us cry but that was excellent! Great job to both of you young ladies" my mother embraced us.
"Maia why was you're scene sad?" Charlie asked
"Uh just because" I lied

It had to do with letting emotion out between me and Ross's breakup. A big part was because of this but it felt nice letting it out, in a way it made me get over Ross.

"Well I hope you two make it" Maddie smiled
"Thanks" we said
"So do you guys want to go to the beach since its hot" my father suggested
"The beach" Jess grinned and I knew she would go for the guys
"I've been seeing some pretty cute guys here might get an australia boyfriend" Jess whispered
"Wow" I rolled my eyes

3 months later....

Saturday Morning

"Maia go get the mail please" my mother yelled from the backyard
"Getting it!" I opened the door and walked to the mail box. I grabbed the envelopes, magazines, and I huge orange packet.
I ran inside to see what it was.

"It's HERE!! The letter is here!!" I screamed. Soon everyone was in the room.

"Before you open it we want to let you know you did amazing in all your auditions" my mother patted my back

I slowly ripped the envelope and got the letter. I didn't want to read it but there's a 50/50 chance come on Maia.

The first letter on the letter changed my mood completely.

"I MADE IT! I MADE IT" I ran all around the house.

"Congrats!" My family celebrated
"I need to call Jess!" I quickly pulled back from my mothers hug and sprinted upstairs to get my phone.

"Jess! Hey did you get your packet already for the Australian University" I called
"It's here?!" She yelled
"Yeah go get your mail!" I yelled
"Okay okay hold on. MOM THE PACKET IS HERE" Jess popped my ear bud
"Sorry I'm excited" she laughed

"Okay I've got the packet.
Wait you made it?!" Jess realized
"Yeah" I said
"CONGRATS!!! Oh my Maia!" She yelled
"Thanks but chill" I chuckled
"Okay I'm opening it" I could hear Jess tearing the envelope apart.

"AHHHHH GUESS WHOS GOING TO BE LIVING WITH YOU IN AUSTRALIA!!!!" Jess yelled
"AHHHH WE'RE GOING TO BE TOGETHER SISTER" I screamed
"Come to my place invite your family invite the neighbors ah might as well invite the block because we Maia we are going to celebrate today!" Jess was as happy as me.
"Okay okay I'll be there in 10" I hung up and grabbed a cardigan and my purse.

Where are you going?" Charlie ran downstairs with me
"To Jess's she got accepted too" I smiled
"Wow who knew both of you would get accepted" he teased
"Well we did Charlie. Mom I'll be back later I'm taking my VW" I got the keys and took it out of the garage.

I quickly drove to Jess's and she was already waiting outside jumping.

"Okay I've started thinking since we are going to be living in Australia for who knows how long we need to.." Jess was interrupted my a FaceTime call from Rydel.
