One Last Dance

It was really hard trying to find a 'One last Dance' video that would let me put it on Wattpad so you can put the song on if you want or listen to 'On My Own' they are both great!

ROSS'S POV

"Rydel!" I yelled "Hurry up we're late who are you trying to impress here?"

The graduation ceremony started at 6 pm and it was already 6:30. The plane landed half an hour late making us late as well. I wore a suit and just barely touched my hair. I put on a few rings and ran downstairs. It was only going to Rydel, Ryland, Rocky and I going to the graduation because of the ticket amount. Rydel finally came down all dressed up so we quickly drove to the high school.

"We're here Ross, chill" Rocky parked and as soon and he stopped I ran for the stadium. I gave the ticket to the ticket lady and ran for the front row empty spots.

"Maia Mitchell Top 10 number 2" they announced. A bunch of people cheered. Most of the grad class stood up clapping.
As Maia walked to the stage the rest of my family came.

"Thank you guys so much. I am honored to be standing here receiving these awards. I want to first thank my teachers for supporting me and encouraging me to go this far. Also all my friends shoutout to my squad Jess Sabrina Cameron and Shane. You've guys have made my high school life interesting" she laughed and the people she called got up.
"And if you're in the crowd I really want to thank my best friend Rydel who's been there for everything! Big shout to her and R5. It's actually quite hard being in the top because you have to fight for your place but I mean it all pays off. You may of lost sleep having to study read or do homework but You've got your entire life to do all the other stuff. To accomplish great things we must not only act, but also dream, not also plan, but believe. All of our dreams can come true.. If we have the courage to pursue them. If you can imagine it, you can achieve it, if you can dream it, you can become it.
There is a good reason they call these ceremonies 'commencement exercises'. Graduation is not the end, it's the beginning" she smiles. I start cheering as loud as I can but there's no way she could possibly hear me with the entire stadium.

Once the ceremony ended the principle announced something.

"There will be a dance in the multi purpose room for those grads and others if you would like to go" the principle went off stage and I kept trying to look for Maia but with all the caps and gowns with the same color it's hard.

"You guys see her?" I asked
"I.. I think she's goes to the dance" Ryland was unsure
"Alright I'm heading that way" I walked fast.

Half the class left but a portion went to the dance. I searched for Maia and spotted her chocolate brown straight hair with a black dress and heals. Beautiful as always. The only problem was she was next to a guy who put his arm around her neck. Maybe his boyfriend? I wouldn't doubt it.

I slowly walked over and possibly might of tooken steps back but I had to talk to her.

"Ross?!" A familiar voice called
"Bella?!" I was confused why would she be here?
"What are you doing here?" I asked
"What are you doing here?" She said
"Wait you came to see Cameron? But Maia goes to this school.

"Cameron?" Bella said looking at him
"Uh hi Maia" I smiled nervously
"You brought your girlfriend?" Maia folded her hands
"Wait he's your ex? But she's my ex" Cameron rose his eyebrows
"Small world isn't it" Bella said
"We never went out I swear it was just a stupid fame set up we just pretended Maia I promise I would never cheat on you Maia" I held her hand but she pulled back
"So is she your girlfriend" Bella frowned at Cameron
"We are just close friends" Maia didn't look at me
"Can we talk outside?" I asked
"Uh I'll be back" She said to her friends
We walked outside and found a bench to sit on.

"Why didn't you tell me before it happened?" She looked down
"How could I? They didn't let me say anything. I promise I never broke my promise about never leaving you alone. I will always be here for you Maia" I looked in her eyes sincerely
"Ross you broke my heart! I cried for weeks and you stopped talking to me and today you're here wanting me to forgive you! No Ross I can't" Her eyes were watery
"I never intended to I swear Maia and if you don't want to forgive me it's fine but I want you to know that I love you and it sounds crazy but it's true all these past months have me hell for me ask Riker ask Rydel they know! There was not one day I didn't think of you or your smile or your laugh because I really love you Maia" she began to cry but I told her. I told her that I truly loved her.
"Don't cry" I brought her to my chest
"Ross I can't do this. Even if yeah I did miss you but I'm leaving Ross. New York was 3,000 miles but I'm moving to Australia which is even longer and the whole distance thing sucks! Ross just stop I've moved on and we can stay friends but please I'm done" she wiped her tears
"To Australia?!" My eyes popped
"Yes I got accepted in a school in Australia" she got up
"Well congrats!" I smiled but I didn't know how to feel about it
"Thanks" she looked back at the dance "I think we.. I should go back" so I followed her back inside

We went back inside but before I let Maia go off I got her hand and she turned back to me

"Hold on. I can't believe I made you cry. It feels so long since we went wrong but you're still on my mind and I never meant to break your heart.
Sometimes things just fall apart so heres one night to make it right before we say goodbye. Lets just make our peace so when you think of me you'll smile, and I'll smile. So wait up and please give me one more chance to make up.
I just need one last dance... with you" I held Maia's waist.
"I.. I'm not sure Ross" then the guy Cameron came over.
"Maia is everything good" he asked
"you are just friends is that right" I looked at him with a straight face.
"Uh yeah great friends" he smiles at Maia
"Then you wouldn't mind if I had a quick dance with her before she leaves would you?" I put him on the spot
"No it's okay" Maia knew what I did but still let me dance with her
"Before we all go our separate ways it was good meeting you and getting to be your friend" we started to dance slowly to the song
"You'll do great in life and I wish you a great life ahead of you" I smiled but deep inside I was broken into little pieces
"I guess I'm on my own" I whispered to her as the song ended
"Guess we both are aren't we. Goodbye Ross" she waved and walked further into the crowd while I stood all alone. "Goodbye Maia Mitchell" I sighed

It's almost feels like it was just a dream. All these memories of you and me blow away in the summer breeze. It almost feels like we never were, all the time we spent was just a blur and now it's just me and the melody. So what I my suppose to do cause all these plans we made in the sand are through.

What did you guys think of the chapter? The whole point of the story was because of this that's why I called it 'One Last Dance'
