2 Years After....

MAIA'S POV

In the past two years mostly everything has changed. I'm not in high school anymore. I'm half way through college and my career is coming closer everyday. I've had people ask me if I could do small things like commercials or being parts of episodes not as big as getting my own show but it's still something. I currently live in Lismore, Australia with my Aunt and Jess. We still are the closest friends anyone can be. My family comes and visits once in a while but this time I'm coming back home. Back to where most of my memories are and I'm pretty nervous to be coming back because I don't know what to expect. Jess won't be coming to the states because she's going to be doing a play at our theatre in school so she has to practice but wishes me luck.

"Your plane is waiting for you Mai! I love you and stay safe. Bring me back American food your vegemite drives me crazy" she jokes
"Shut up! I'll bring you twinkies" I laugh "I love you Jessjess" I hugged her almost knocking her down
"Okay see you soon and don't leave me all summer" she says and I start walking into the airport
"I'll try not too" I wave

LAX Airport

"Need a ride?" The taxi asks
"Yes" I was relieved because I couldn't find a ride
"Where too?" He asks
"17834 Berlin Oat Street in Palms Beach" I gave him the address
(Made it up)

I begin to see all the familiar places during the car ride and think how things changed in the past couple years.

I feel my heart pound as I get to my street and I'm soon outside my house.
"This one right" the taxi stops
"Yeah thanks mate" I give him the money and pull out my luggages

I stand out and see the porch. That's where I used to have all my tea parties with my stuffed animals or where I sound sit and watch our front neighbor juggle. Then I see the driveway; that's where I first parked my VW bus when I got it for my 16th birthday and now I'm almost 20, im getting old. In the same driveway is where I scrapped my knee because my longboard wheels got locked up my a stupid beer cap that someone left. And the patch of grass in from of the porch is where I'd always do cartwheels or handstands and do shows. But that tree right next to the Lynchs fence is where I met Ross Shor Lynch. He came over asked my name and from there on was just a story. He did make my cramps go away that night and we talked from our rooms with the windows open.

I start dragging the luggages in the driveway and see Ross taking out the trash. I like how his mom still makes him take out the trash I chuckle light. I hurry so he doesn't notice me but the loud creaking wheels on my luggage makes him turn around and smile.

"Maia!!" Cameron shouts getting out of his car.
"Hey!" I smile
"It's been like half a year" he hugs me
"We FaceTimed three days ago" I giggled
"But you're finally here. Let me help you" he takes my luggages back inside and once I turn back to see if Ross is there I see him close the floor to his front house
"Are you going to unlock the door?" Cameron says
"I'm coming" I focus back on finding the keys
"Do your parents know you're here?" Cameron sets the luggages in my room
"No they would've been here waiting" I say as I take my shoes off and put my hair up in a bun
"So it's a surprise" he smiles "you know before you leave we've got to make a video together for my channel and take some shots" Cam sits down
"Alright yeah the time you came to Australia and took the picture of the school do you remember? Well they used it for something I forgot but it was really cool" I went downstairs
"They used it! Sick I was was thinking we can wake up at 5" I cut him off
"At 5 am?" I said in shock
"Oh come on you live in Australia it's probably what midnight at that time?" Cam says
"Whatever keep going" I say
"Well we can go under the Boardwalk and take a few shots there and make a video I had it all planned out" he smiles proudly
"Good for you but I mean if you have it planned then we'll do it" I hear the door open and run to Charlie

"Maia!!" He yells
"I missed you" he's gotten a lot taller
"Hey mom and dad" I hug them after
"Where's Maddie?" I ask
"She should be here soon" my dad said
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell" Cam shakes my dads hand
"He just came to stop by" I inform to them
"MAIA!!!!!" Rydel screams
"RYDEL!! I Missed you so much" we run and hug each other tightly
"I missed you too sister"we keep hugging "oh sorry for the screaming Maia's parents" Rydel got embarrassed
"They probably think I'm crazy" she whispers while I laugh
"I thought I wouldn't of gotten to see you are you on tour right now" we pull back
"Just finished actually" we go out in the porch and talked with Cam

"Cam I love you videos they are what I look forward to most of my day" Rydel says to Cam
"Thanks I'm actually making a vid with Maia you should be in it too" he says to her
"Really!" She jumps
"Yeah the more the better right" he checked him phone and had to leave

"So how's Ross" I ask when Cam leaves
"He's you know same" she sighs "but he started smoking"
"What?!" All of i sudden I get up
"It's been only this month but we are kind of unsure what has been going on with him. He smiles on the outside but I know my brother isn't happy" Rydel looks down

I stay silent for a minute and start thinking, this better not be because of me. Ross wouldn't do that!

"Can I use your restroom I know mines over there but still it's over there" I laugh and let her in.

While she's in the restroom I put Ross's digits and make a contact for him then quickly put down Rydel's phone before she found out.

In the night I open my window and slide the curtain and find a light on Ross's room.

'Slide the window' I text him
'Maia?' He replies 5 seconds later
'Hey :)'
'Find me at beach I'm not home'

I pull on a jumper and head outside. I smell someone smoking so I get closer and see Ross with a cigarette.

'Why are you smoking?" I ask
"Why can't I? This is America isn't it" he gets all smart with me
"Ross I didn't come here just to see you smoke now please tell me!" I sit down next to him and take the cigarette away from him and turn it off.
"Why do you even care? Don't you have a boyfriend to yell at instead" he glares at me because I took it away
"No I don't now explain" I look at him
"Maia it hasn't been easy. Since you left it's been plain and everyone has something to do. I'm in the basement all day making music and there's just no time to do anything. Everyone has someone or something and I'm alone I feel lonely and I want none of your pity. Smoking makes me not think of anything, everything blanks and there's just happy thoughts of us. Yeah I still remember what we used to be but now, now we are just strangers with memories." He looks out at the water.

ROSS'S POV

"But now, now we are just strangers with memories" I look out at the water and a tear runs slowly down my cheek.
"You're right we won't even know each other except anymore only what we used to be" she looks at me and I could feel the heat of being just inches away from her. Maia looked down at my lips and back to my eyes. I should make a move!

"Ross who's she"
